‘It’s been very difficult for him since he came back. He’s been criticised a lot. It’s not the best club where he can have fun and show his talent.

‘I think PSG would be great for him. Some say it wouldn’t be good for Paris, because he’s supposedly often injured. But I think his injuries are due to his life in Manchester, because he’s not psychologically well.’

Asked if Pogba would want to join PSG, Anelka said: ‘I discussed this six months ago with him and he would not be against coming to PSG.

Former EPL star reacts as reports of Ronaldo to Chelsea lingers

The speculations that Cristiano Ronaldo might have a shock move from Man United to Chelsea still lingers.

This has forced former Chelsea defender, Glen Johnson, to give his remarks.

In his reaction, he branded the Blues’ reported attempt to sign Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo as a commercial deal.

Johnson believes Boehly and his consortium would make the money they used to sign Ronaldo back in two weeks if they eventually signed the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

Meanwhile, It was recently reported that new Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly held a meeting with Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes.

“If he goes to Chelsea, then he’d burn his bridges at Manchester United,” Johnson told GGRecon

“From Chelsea’s perspective, he’s a massive brand and he may be expensive, but you would probably make that money back in two weeks through shirt sales. He may cost a fortune, but the club would probably make more by just having him. Signing Ronaldo is like signing a commercial deal.

“I don’t think Ronaldo can change Chelsea’s fortunes as a player now, but I think having him in the dressing room would. On the pitch now, he’s not the Ronaldo we all want to see, but him being in the dressing room will get another 5% out of everyone around him.”

Shock Ronaldo exit from United could happen as Lisbon Sporting Director speaks

The speculations linking Cristiano Ronaldo away from Man United has taken another turn after Sporting Lisbon director of football Hugo Viana said the veteran could return to his boyhood club before the end of his career.

This is coming after the former Real Madrid and Juventus star was linked away from Old Trafford with suggestions he could he heading to Chelsea.

New Chelsea owner Todd Boehly last week met with Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes and talks about a possible move was discussed.

However, Viana, who formerly played for Newcastle United, says that United should concentrate on building a system in which Ronaldo can flourish under new manager Erik ten Hag.

‘It’s time for Man United to stabilise and create a good spirit inside the club,’ Viana told Sky Sports News. ‘From what I can see from the outside it’s not time [for Ronaldo to leave]. There is always time to rebuild everything. In Cristiano there is a player who scores 20, 25 for sure per season. it’s really important to have those kind of goals in the team.

On the possibility of Sporting making a move this summer, Viana was hesitant, but did suggest a romantic homecoming could take place one day.

‘Not now, I don’t think that will be possible,’ Viana said when asked whether Sporting could approach Ronaldo about a potential return this summer. ‘But we never know. He can decide where he can go. But you never know the future. I don’t want to talk a lot about that because when we speak about Cristiano it is quite different. I think he has one more year on his contract, so whatever he decides, let’s see.’

“The system doesn’t exactly suit him. He could play as part of the front three, just behind [Harry] Kane.

“I I truly believe there is a place for Eriksen in any Premier League squad.

“To hear that they are going cold on it surprises me. I’m disappointed.

“It would be a fitting end when you take into account what has happened over the last couple of years. It would be romantic to see him back at Spurs.

“Eriksen will make a decision that is right for him and his family. Wherever he ends up, it is just great to see him playing football again.”

Former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about Man United’s summer restructuring, said the Red Devils must do whatever it takes to bring Michael Edwards to Old Trafford.

Man United have been credited with interest in Michael Edwards after he stepped down as Liverpool’s Sporting Director at the end of the 2021-22 season.

It is a major step to restructuring the club as it will go a long way in helping the club’s success both on and off the pitch.

Edwards boasts of playing a key role in the signings of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Alisson, who have been instrumental in the Reds’ improvement under Jurgen Klopp.

“The recruitment at Man United is nothing short of embarrassing,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“They have made some dreadful signings in the last few years. For every one good player, there are about five bad ones.

“The fees they are paying as well, £80million for Maguire, that should not have happened. They need an experienced guy in there.

“Edwards would be perfect. It’s whether he has any loyalty to Liverpool I suppose. He knows what he’s doing.

“That’s exactly the kind of guy they should be going and getting, forget how much he’s getting paid, pay it.”

Man United could be close to sealing a deal as Dundee United want to bring Dylan Levitt back to Tannadice on loan and this summer transfer window.

Although, this is not the type of news story the Red Devils fans want to hear as they want incomings, rather than exits.

Dundee have reportedly held talks with the Red Devils after he spent last season with the Tangerines and impressed over 29 matches in all competitions north of the border.

Sporting director Tony Asghar told the Sunday Mail: “We’re still interested and talks are ongoing. He’s got another year with Manchester United and a World Cup to aim for, to try and get into the Wales squad.

“Dylan is a player who fits into our system. He is well liked by all of the players and loved by the fans.

“We are still trying to see if we can do something there. Jack [Ross, the manager] likes the player, but when you bring a manager in, you have to run the list of targets past him.”

Asghar added: “I think we know we are on the right track with targets. When you see Levitt and the influence he had, especially in the second half of the season, he is a player we would like at Dundee United.

“But right now, he is a Manchester United player. We are speaking to them and they know our feelings.
