Raphinha, in reaction has insisted that he is not distracted by the enormous speculation surrounding his future or the question marks over his contract situation at Leeds.

‘I’ve got a contract until 2024, my head is totally here and focused on Leeds,’ the Brazilian told BBC Radio Leeds.

‘As for contractual matters, I leave them to my agent and my dad.

‘I just focus on playing my football and making the Leeds fans happy, scoring goals, providing assists and getting victories for the team.

‘Contractual matters are for my agent, my focus is on making people happy with my football and doing as best as I can for Leeds.’

Raphinha has scored eight goals, laying on two assists in 19 appearances – though he has created 39 chances, ranking him fifth in the division.

Manager Marcelo Bielsa spoke glowingly about the attacker recently, saying: ‘Raphinha’s the best player in the team in all the senses. Physically he’s the best, technically he’s at the level of the best and his interpretation of the game is very wise.

‘He’s within the group of such a powerful nation as Brazil, he shines in the Premier League and he has the attention of all the big clubs in the world.

‘All of those things are something you guys know as well. Nothing I’m saying is new. As a result, the decision of the club [to open talks over a new contract] can only be valued.’

How Arsenal could hand Chelsea a major transfer blow with this one move

Published

Arsenal could hand a major transfer blow to their London rivals Chelsea if they revisit long-standing interest in Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans
and sign him before the transfer deadline.

The Belgian midfielder is available at a cut-price fee of £25million because of his contract situation and he is the top target for Mikel Arteta with Leicester City ready to let him go.

Meanwhile the Blues are eager to snatch the £80m-rated Wesley Fofana from Leicester, a move that would be difficult to accomplish if Youri Tielemans leaves for Arsenal.

Although the Foxes have put a huge price on the 21-year-old Frenchman, who it appears is keen to move to Stamford Bridge but his move will be stopped if Youri Tielemans eventually leaves for the North London outfit.

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers has already declared that Leicester will not be “exploited” this summer as they are more likely to let go of Youri Tielemans.

Rodgers said: “We don’t want to be losing our best players. You don’t want to lose your best players and then not be able to bring any in. That doesn’t stack up.” Though he has since added on funding signings: “It would have to be about trimming the squad or selling your assets. That’s something that the club are looking closely at.”

Chelsea set to sign Arsenal’s “rejected stone” as pundit makes perfect claim

Published

Despite being a great player Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was allowed to Goa through the exit door at Arsenal last January transfer window.

This happened when he still had a running and active contract with the North London outfit but it was obvious that Mikel Arteta was no longer in need of him.

It is now understood that Chelsea have marked the Gabon international as the man to help the attack and are set to make a move for him.

Former Tottenham star Darren Bent therefore said that former Arsenal striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would be ‘perfect’ for Chelsea.

Aubameyang, now at Barcelona, has been heavily linked with a shock return to England just half a year after he left the Gunners for Barcelona.

But Bent said he would rather have Gabriel Jesus in Arsenal’s team than Aubameyang.

Told to pick between Aubameyang and Gabriel Jesus, the former England international said:

“Where Arsenal are and what Arteta is building, I’d prefer Gabriel Jesus.”

However, Bent said he would rather have Jesus over Aubameyang as Arsenal’s main striker this season.

Gabriel Jesus has hit the ground running after his move from Man City and that has been hailed as a good deal for Arsenal, especially now that they won their first game of the season.

Pundit fears United losing their top target to EPL side soonest

Football pundit Alex McLeish has expressed fears that Man United could lose their top target and Barcelona star Frankie de Jong to their Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider the former Aston Villa manager said it seems like De Jong would prefer a move to London instead of Manchester and it will be a “real blow” to the Red Devils.

The pundit expressed this fears after reports had claimed that Chelsea are holding talks with Barcelona over a potential move for the 25-year-old.

Man United had previously reached an agreement with the Spanish side worth around £70million for the midfielder.

The Netherlands international is however reluctant to to make a decision about where his future lies.

When asked if it will be disappointing for United if De Jong chooses the Blues, McLeish told Football Insider: “It’s definitely a blow if he decides to go to Chelsea.

“Let’s face it, it was always in the news, we heard about it every day, we were all privy to the deal going one way or the other.

“For one of your great rivals to come in at the last minute, at the 11th hour and take him away from your clutches, that will be a real blow to United.

“Frenkie de Jong, by the sound of things, would love a London move.“

This Chelsea star won’t join Arsenal again as Gunners get better fit as suggestion

The idea and report that Timo Werner could be attracting interest from Arsenal has been discouraged with the Gunners advised by Kevin Campbell to sign Cody Gakpo or Leroy Sane instead.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gunners and Everton striker said Gakpo, 23, and Sane, 26, “fit the profile better” than Werner, 26.

Werner has three years remaining on his contract with Chelsea but he is already being linked away from the club.

When asked by Football Insider if the striker would be a welcome addition at the Emirates, Campbell said: “You could say his finishing hasn’t been great and that he has lost a lot of confidence.

“But do you know what, whenever he plays he works hard and stretches the pitch. Whether he is playing striker or wide, he knows how to stretch the pitch.

“He is a thorn in the side of the opposition. I would not surprise me if Arsenal are interested in him.

“But I think they have bigger priorities for those wide forward slots.

“I would rather we move for a Sane or a Gakpo. They fit the profile better for me.”

Paul Merson tells Chelsea’s Tuchel they should have signed this star ahead of Arsenal

Published

Paul Merson has told Chelsea that they should’ve signed Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City ahead of Arsenal.

According to him, the Blues have not made any convincing signing this summer transfer window.

Jesus made the switch from the Etihad to the Emirates as he reunited with former coach Mikel Arteta.

The Brazil international has impressed in pre-season for the Gunners, scoring the opener in a resounding 4-0 victory over Chelsea in the USA.

Arsenal legend Merson thinks the Blues should’ve gone in for Jesus and predicts the striker could even score more goals than Man City’s prolific summer signing Erling Haaland.

‘I was at Chelsea vs Arsenal the other day in Florida and Chelsea will have to pull up some trees to catch City and Liverpool,’ Merson told the Daily Star.

‘It’s plain to see they can’t play a back four. I go a lot and whenever they play it you might as well go home. It’s that extreme.

‘I also don’t like Chelsea’s business, it’s been slow and could come back to haunt them. It’s why Thomas Tuchel is getting so frustrated.

‘You look at the other side and Arsenal had Gabriel Jesus and you’re scratching your head. How did Arsenal get him?

‘The kid is an out-and-out centre-forward, he may even outscore Haaland. He was unbelievable the other day, why didn’t Chelsea have a look?

‘When I was walking out of the ground, fans were saying ‘it hasn’t started properly yet, wait until the season starts’ but not what I watched, that was alarming.’

Ex-player tells Chelsea why they should not sign Ronaldo

Former Chelsea winger, Pat Nevin has told the Blues why they should not sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Man United.

The Portuguese international has informed the club and manager Erik ten Hag that he wants to leave for Champions League football.

Reports have therefore linked the former Juventus and Real Madrid player with a move to Stamford Bridge m

Reacting to the report, Nevin said Ronaldo would be a bigger flop at the club than Romelu Lukaku at th West London outfit.

Nevin has, however, advised his former club to stay away from Ronaldo.

“I think Ronaldo would be even more of a poor fit than Lukaku was for Chelsea,” Nevin told BonusCodeBets.

When Lukaku signed last season, people thought he would be the missing link but I thought by signing him, Thomas Tuchel was throwing his style of play out the window if indeed it was Thomas who signed him! It didn’t make sense to me.

“While Ronaldo scores a lot of goals, of the ball you are almost playing with ten men which you cannot do in the Premier League and be competitive.

“Some Chelsea fans may love it, but there have been some cases over the years around Chelsea which have made them look like a circus.”

Arsenal to sign Chelsea star as another pundit backs move

Arsenal could end up signing N’Golo Kante this summer transfer window after Frank McAvennie backed the move and claimed it won’t be a surprise.

The Gunners are linked with a move for Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans but could land the France international.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker said in the past clubs would never have sold players to rivals.

When asked for his assessment of the latest, McAvennie told Football Insider: “Nothing surprises me in football anymore.

“I didn’t think [Raheem] Sterling would go to Chelsea. I didn’t think Man City would let two of their players go to Arsenal. Back in the day it wouldn’t have happened.

“I like Kante, I think he was the best in the world in that position. I think he’s still got a point to prove. I think it’s what Arsenal need, they need someone like that.

“They’ve got a couple of hot heads in midfield that are getting sent off and you don’t need that. The Premier League is hard enough with 11 men let alone with players getting sent off and going down to ten men.

“Would it be a good move? Yes, I think it would be a great move for Kante and Arsenal. It will be a bit of a strange one if it happens.“

Arsenal move for Chelsea star not ruled out as legend backs deal to happen

Published

Kevin Campbell has backed Arsenal to make a move for Chelsea star N’Golo Kante “straight away” if the finances are right.

According to the former Gunners striker, the 31-year-old’s numbers are still “frightening” despite a number of injuries during the 2021-22 campaign.

Mikel Arteta still wants a midfielder as he was earlier linked with a move for the former Leicester City midfielder. He is now backed to seal the deal.

Campbell said the Arsenal midfield is liable to lose grip of games when injury-troubled star Thomas Partey is absent and the addition of Kante would help.

Campbell told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury: “For me, if the money was right – I’d do it straight away.

“He’s someone who knows how to operate in the Premier League, that’s for sure. Yes, he suffered a few injuries last season, but his numbers are still frightening.

“He’s still one of the best around, and that midfield area is still a massive problem area for Arsenal.

“We’ve seen them play games where the midfield just can’t get a grip – especially when Thomas Partey isn’t there.

“We need someone else who knows how to navigate and dominate. I don’t think there has been a better exponent of that midfield engine room in recent years than N’Golo Kante.”
