United advised on what to do next after Capturing Raphael Varane to win Premier League

English Premier League side Manchester United have been told that the club have a big need of a striker after securing the signatures of arrivals of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane if they must compete for the Premier League title.

The Red Devils came close last season but their efforts were not enough to hand them the glory.

Former Leicester and Tottenham goalkeeper Kasey Keller has therefore, advised that the club will need a high-profile signing to be genuine Premier League title contenders next season, even if they sign Raphael Varane.

Already United have announced that they have agreed a £73million deal to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, he will sign a five-year deal after England’s participation at Euro 2020.

Ole Gunner Solskjaer still has his eyes on Real Madrid defender Varane as he seeks for a high-profile partner for club for captain Harry Maguire.
Keller who appeared on ESPN FC, was asked if the arrivals of Sancho and Varane would make United title contenders.

However, he thinks signing a striker of the calibre of Harry Kane or Erling Haaland is still needed.

“I’m not sure. I’m not sure if [Edinson] Cavani can score the goals they need,” Keller said.

“He’s done great coming in but I still see him probably in his situation being that secondary striker to play, come off the bench

“Obviously there was talk potentially of a Harry Kane or something like that, or even doing a double deal with Sancho to bring in Erling Haaland as well. I could see that more.”

Keller also said Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba also have to step up their games next season, as well as goalkeeper David de Gea.

“I think Rashford has to have a better season, Pogba has to be more motivated than he’s shown in a Manchester United shirt,” he added.

“If he shows the same motivation that he does for France, for Manchester United, potentially [they can win the league].

“And then obviously De Gea needs to get back to his form of a couple of years ago.”

The transfer window is just opening and a lot is expected to happen for at Man United, especially exit of some fringe players.

Legend ignores Man Utd, names six teams that can win champions league

Danny Murphy

Experienced legend, Danny Murphy has listed the six clubs he thinks can win the Champions League this season.

His list include title holders Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool. However, Manchester United was not mentioned.

Danny Murphy predicts English clubs could be a dominant force in Europe this campaign, with Chelsea hoping to defend the title they won after beating Manchester City in last season’s champions league final.

For Liverpool, they reached successive Champions League finals in 2018 and 2019 and would be eager to challenge for another this seasonn.

Danny Murphy insists Manchester City are one of the favorites as with Chelsea, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, PSG and Atletico Madrid.

Asked which teams he expects to challenge for the Champions League title, Murphy told MailSport:

“I personally think the winners will come from one of six – Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and PSG.

“Atletico are an outsider because Diego Simeone has matchwinners in Luis Suarez and Griezmann in addition to the remarkable team spirit he’s fostered.”

Why Man Utd may not win trophy

Rio Ferdinand, has said the Manchester United inexperience could stop themfrom winning the Champions League this season.

Man United manager has brought in Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane this summer, as he seeks to win his first title at Old Trafford.

However, the team have not won any silverware since the Europa League final in 2017.

Their rivals, Liverpool and Chelsea have won both the Premier League and Champions League while Manchester City have won last season’s fina, their third league title in four years under experienced coach Pep Guardiola.

“I think Man United’s not a problem, but where they’re behind the other three English teams, is the experience of winning things.

“All the other three English teams have won things, whether it be the Champions League or the Premier League. Man United have yet to do that as this group.

“That’s where they are lacking, and that’s where they’ve got to play catch up and they’ve got to do that this season. The transfer window for them has been impeccable, but that’s got to translate into trophies,” Ferdinand told BT Sport.

What Solskjaer said about Man Utd 2-1 defeat to Young Boys

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has lambasted his side following a 2-1 defeat to Young Boys on yesterday.

Manchester United began their Champions League campaign with a shock loss to Young Boys.

The Red Devil took the lead when Cristiano Ronaldo scored his third goal since he returned to Old Trafford.

Later on, the game turned around after Aaron Wan-Bissaka received a straight red card for his challenge on Christopher Martins.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has lay blames on his team following a 2-1 defeat to Young Boys on Tuesday.

The Switzerland side eventually drew level, thanks to Moumi Ngameleu’s strike.

The match should have been a draw but Lingard tried to find David de Gea but his pass found Theoson Siebatcheu.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has seriously warned his squad that they must learn from their mistakes if they are to avoid an early exit from the championship competition.

“A lack of concentration, you make a mistake and you get done. We did that last year, conceding two sloppy counter-attacks against Basaksehir and lost that game in the last seconds today.

“So we know we’ve given ourselves a more difficult task. We did last year when everyone thought we were through after two games.

“You need 10 or 12 points: win your home games and one away from home. We’ve lost the opportunity to get three points, but we’ve got two home games next and got to focus on those two,” Solskjaer said after the game.
