MMA: How “disgusted” Jake Paul reacts loudly to latest rumour over his fighting career

Published

on

This one might have gotten to Jake Paul as he had to dismiss the latest rumour involving his boxing career and this time, he is doing it loudly.

Jake Paul was rumoured to have chipped in a clause in his opponents’ contract that stated they were not allowed to knock him out during the fight, a development that is rather unbelievable.

This time, he had to respond and he had to do it in a grand style by offering former UFC champion Tyron Woodley an extra $500,000 bonus if he could win their upcoming rematch by knockout or TKO.

“There’s rumors going around that everyone sort of has come to believe that my fights are rigged or I don’t allow my opponents to knock me out in the contract,” Paul addressed when appearing on The MMA Hour.

“It’s just not true. It’s completely bullsh*t.

“Of course all these people are going to do is try to discredit me. Because when you’re at the top, that’s what happens. I just want to nip the rumors in the [bud] and give my opponent — contractually, I’m giving Tyron an extra $500,000 if he can knock me out. It just nips the rumors in the [bud] and shows people that all of my fights have been real, are real and will continue to be real.

“It’s illegal to rig a fight or to stage a fight,” Paul said. “It’s illegal to have things like that because it’s fraud. There’s outcomes. You can’t change the outcomes of a professionally sanctioned bout. It’s illegal. You would end up in jail. The fact that people would say that, we just wanted to squash the rumors.”

Michael Bisping gives a good reason why fighters must stop calling out Conor McGregor

Published

on

UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping has pleaded to UFC fighters to stop calling out former two-division champion Conor McGregor.

He explained that McGregor is injured and should be allowed to return fully before any bout.

No doubt that McGregor is one of the most successful martial artists in history. He is also the most challenged fighter in recent time.

Speaking in a video uploaded to his YouTube channel, McGregor’s fellow former titleholder from across the Pacific, noted the 33-year-old’s name will never be far from fighters’ mouths, but that has to stop.

“He’s never out of anyone’s mouth for far too long, simply because he keeps himself out there. He’s one of the most exciting fighters in the division, he’s an interesting character, he talks a lot of shit, he’s got tonnes of money, he was the double champ; all the rest of it. There’s a lot of reasons. And he’s got a lot of fans. He’s got worldwide fans all over the place. That means a lot of people are always calling him out.”

“People asked Dana White about it (Holloway vs. McGregor 2). Dana White shook that idea down. He said, ‘Listen, Conor is injured.’ And he is. We know what happened, he snapped his tibia… those little twiggy bones he’s got, they snapped. He can’t fight for a while. It’s gonna be a while, but people are still calling him out. Max Holloway isn’t the only one. Michael Chandler is now also at it as well… He’s calling out Conor McGregor because he wants these epic moments in his fight career; the red panty night, the big payday.

“But it’s not gonna happen. Not unless you wanna wait for a Goddamn year, you know what I mean? He broke his leg! Now, Conor’s walking about again, I’ve seen footage of him training, maybe riding the bike, lifting the weights and stuff; that’s all well and good….Conor McGregor, right now, there’s no way he can go through a mixed martial arts training camp.”
