Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has given Arsenal fans some sort of relief with hope that more new faces would join the club before the end of the transfer window.

This is after he stated that he expects “some new faces” in the squad on the club’s tour to Florida next week.

So far, the Gunners are closing in on the signings of Anderlecht midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga and Brighton defender Ben White after claims that a fee has been agreed while Left-back Nuno Tavares has joined from Benfica earlier in the window and made his first appearance for the club in the 2-2 friendly draw at Rangers on Saturday.

Arsenal came from behind twice to draw at Ibrox thanks to goals from new signing Tavares and Eddie Nketiah.

Arsenal will now travel to Florida in the next few days, playing Inter Milan in the Florida Cup on July 25 before facing either Everton or Millonarios on July 28.

Speaking after the Rangers clash, Arteta clearly hinted further new signings could be on the way soon.

Arteta told the official Arsenal website: “Now a little bit of recovery.

“We trained really hard, played two games, and now we’re going to be travelling to America in the next week.

“We didn’t have any injuries which is really positive in the first week.

“We’re going to have some new faces arriving probably, so very positive.”

Meanwhile, Arteta was impressed with the first sighting of Tavares in an Arsenal shirt on Saturday.
Tavares took his goal calmly with his weak foot to equalise in the first half.

“A great debut with his right foot as well!” Arteta reflected.
“He’s only been with us a few days but you can already see his qualities, his physicality and then the quality on the ball that he has.

“He’s integrating with the lads really well, so it’s a good start.”

Pundits hints at Arsenal’s priority between a winger and a midfielder

Several reports have claimed confirmed that the focus for Arsenal and manager Mikel Arteta this January winter transfer window is to sign a winger and a midfielder.

The North London outfit want to add depth to their squad as they hope to finally land the Premier League title this season.

However, journalist Paul Brown suggests that the Gunners will prioritize signing a midfielder ahead of a winger

This is as he claimed that Palmeiras midfielder Danilo may be “high on their list” of January targets.

The signing of Danilo at the age of 21 will give the Gunners some fresh legs in the middle when they need an extra push to hold on to a lead or to go and win a game in the last 15 minutes

Brown told GIVEMESPORT: “I think Arsenal are looking for a winger and a midfielder in January if possible.

“I think the club’s hierarchy are willing to back the manager because they’ve seen what a brilliant start to the season it’s been and there is a feeling around the club that they are going to be in the race for the title if this continues.

“So, Arsenal I think will spend money if they can, and I would expect this player [Danilo] to be high on their list of targets in January.”

Arsenal chief Edu has disclosed that the club have concluded to lodge a bid for Palmeiras midfielder Danilo in January.

Palmeiras were not willing to sell Danilo in the summer as it was midway through their domestic season.

But now the Brazilian campaign is over, a deal looks more viable as Edu is reported to have a relationship with the player’s client.

The North London outfit are reported have had an offer of around £21.4million (€25m) rejected in the summer.

This time, according to sports journalist, Jorge Nicola, a similar bid would be submitted and could now be accepted by Palmeiras.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Nicola claims he has spoken to the player’s representatives.

Arsenal are still said to be monitoring Danilo and a new offer is set to be submitted once the World Cup group stage comes to an end on December 2.

The North London outfit are currently top on the Premier League table with five points ahead of Man City.

Arsenal fans learn this player wants to leave Emirates Stadium

Emerging reports have indicated that defender Cedric Soares is seemingly interested in quitting Arsenal this January.

This is coming as the North London outfit is making efforts to beef their team ahead of the January winter transfer window.

The Portugal international has only managed 27 minutes of Premier League football under Mikel Arteta this season and he is expectedly unhappy with the situation.

According to Calciomercato [as covered by HITC Sport] earlier in November, a winter transfer to Fulham could be on the cards for the 31-year-old if the Gunners permit.

However, Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge has confirmed that the former Southampton right-back wants to leave the Emirates Stadium outfit.

Although the reporter noted that a move is not sacrosanct as Arteta and Edu will not allow any exit until they are able to sign a replacement.

Meanwhile, there are no talks of a defender in this January transfer window.

Michael Bridge told Give Me Sport: “For example, there’s a lot of interest in Cedric and my understanding is he wants to move on, but Arsenal won’t allow that unless they bring someone else in.

“I think, at Arsenal, maybe we’ll see one or two coming in and one or two going out in January. But I think it would be quality coming in and surplus going out. ”

Howbeit, Mikel Arteta is expected to focus on bringing in players in January and not sanctioning exits of fringe players.

Noah Okafor is one of the several players they have been linked with so far this season.

In his reaction, Salzburg’s sporting director Christoph Freund said via Team Talk: “I think there will be a bit more going on in the transfer market than in recent years. Okafor really took off last year.

“I hope he plays a good World Cup, then the Noah Okafor stock can become very interesting. I’m not ruling it [his sale] out.”

Respected football transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has claimed that two of Arsenal’s target are keen to join the Emirates Stadium in the January winter transfer window.

Fabrizio Romano names Shakhtar Donestk winger Mykhailo Mudryk and Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans as the two players that are opened to joining the North London outfit.

It has already been reported that the Gunners want the bring in a midfielder and a winger because of the need to add depth and make major push for the Premier League title.

While other players have also been mentioned to be linked with Arsenal, Romano says the two are keen.

“I’m sure both players are attracted by Arsenal, as they were in the summer and even more now,” Romano told CaughtOffside.

“For Mudryk there are four or five clubs keen on signing him, including Arsenal of course.

“For Tielemans, it depends on conditions of free deal; Arsenal always had his name in the list but talks are not concrete yet.”

“I’m sure there won’t be any talks at all until after the World Cup, and although my preference would be for Arsenal to go for Danilo, the fact is that Tielemans is Premier League proven and could slot quickly and seamlessly into our squad, and perhaps is the more solid option as we continue our assault on the title after Christmas…”

Presenter reveals club plans for Arsenal’s top target

Lee Gunner has revealed on his YouTube channel that he’s ‘not convinced’ Arsenal will find it easy to sign Shakhtar Donetsk’s Mykhailo Mudryk.

This is as he claimed Shakhtar Donetsk have agreed not to let the winger go unless a fee of £90 million is paid for his signature.

This makes the reporter to have doubt over the possibility of the move the Emirates Stadium.

He said “He is our number one target if you listen to Fabrizio Romano and many other journalists out there, he is Arsenal’s number one target this January, but this is where the problem is. The problem is the price, and are we going to go out there after being stumped for Nicolas Pepe? And go and do the same sort of dough on him? I’m not I’m not convinced we will.”

Romano identifies transfer opportunity at Arsenal

Published

on

Respected transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano said Arsenal have ‘an even bigger opportunity’ to back manager Mikel Arteta and strengthen their first-team squad in January.

The Gunners are keen to consolidate on the success recorded so far this season, hence the need to add depth with a winger and a midfielder already mentioned as top priority.

Efforts to make some deals happen on the summer transfer deadline day proved abortive as the moves for the likes of Lisandro Martinez, Douglas Luiz and Raphinha failed.

However, the transfer guru Romano believes that Arsenal were ‘really smart’ in their transfer strategy over the summer and that they will adopt a similar approach now.

In an interview with GiveMeSport, he said: “Yes, I think it’s an even bigger opportunity for them to show that they want to sign again the right players at the right moment.

“I think they were really smart in the summer because they wanted, for example, Raphinha as a winger, but then they were not able to compete with Barcelona because the player wanted to join Barcelona.

“So, they didn’t waste money on players they were not trusting, they were waiting and waiting as they did with (Dusan) Vlahovic last January. They wanted Vlahovic, but he decided to join Juventus, they decided to wait and sign Gabriel Jesus. So, the strategy will be the same.”
