The two players Juventus were willing to offer United for Pogba

Italian Serie A outfit Juventus were willing to offer English Premier League outfit Man United two players in exchange for France international midfielder Paul Pogba.

The future of the World Cup winner has been in the air especially after a comment credited to his agent, Mino Raiola that Paul Pogba is unhappy at Man United and wants to leave.

“There’s no point beating about the bush. It’s better to speak out clearly, look forward and avoid wasting time to find culprits. Paul is unhappy at Manchester United, he can’t manage to express himself like he wants to and like people expect him to.

“He has a contract that will expire in a year and a half, in the summer of 2022, but the best solution for all parties is a transfer in the next window. Otherwise, the Old Trafford club, which I have a great relationship with, knows well that they would risk losing him on a free transfer, given that at the moment it’s not the player’s intention to extend the contract.”

Suggestions are that Paul Pogba is aware of the words spoken by his agent and also in support of the claims as he is yet to openly rebuke or debunk it.

This development puts the Red Devils in a difficult position as they could be set to lose their star player any moment from now.

However, the Italian Serie A outfit were willing to make it easier for Man United in the past by offering two other players in exchange but that would not have happened without the payment of some fee.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that Juventus have already touched base with United in the past and offered them Miralem Pjanic, who is now with Barcelona, and Douglas Costa.

Fabrizio Romano, therefore, stated that it would be difficult to sign Paul Pogba in the January window without selling other players to create space as he hinted on the possibility of a move in the summer transfer window.

“Juventus offered Pjanic and Douglas Costa to Manchester United for Paul Pogba to start talks, Manchester United turned it down,” Romano said on the Here We Go podcast.

“Juventus are in the race to sign Pogba. Juve will try again with a swap deal if that doesn’t work, Juve will need to sell important players first to finance the Pogba deal.

“If Juve don’t sell any players or swap deals doesn’t work, simply they can’t get Pogba. It’s difficult to sign Pogba in January, Juventus will need to sell players and Manchester United will want the full asking price. You only get a four-week window, not a three-month window like the summer.”

Experienced legend, Danny Murphy has listed the six clubs he thinks can win the Champions League this season.

His list include title holders Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool. However, Manchester United was not mentioned.

Danny Murphy predicts English clubs could be a dominant force in Europe this campaign, with Chelsea hoping to defend the title they won after beating Manchester City in last season’s champions league final.

For Liverpool, they reached successive Champions League finals in 2018 and 2019 and would be eager to challenge for another this seasonn.

Danny Murphy insists Manchester City are one of the favorites as with Chelsea, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, PSG and Atletico Madrid.

Asked which teams he expects to challenge for the Champions League title, Murphy told MailSport:

“I personally think the winners will come from one of six – Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and PSG.

“Atletico are an outsider because Diego Simeone has matchwinners in Luis Suarez and Griezmann in addition to the remarkable team spirit he’s fostered.”

Why Man Utd may not win trophy

Rio Ferdinand, has said the Manchester United inexperience could stop themfrom winning the Champions League this season.

Man United manager has brought in Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane this summer, as he seeks to win his first title at Old Trafford.

However, the team have not won any silverware since the Europa League final in 2017.

Their rivals, Liverpool and Chelsea have won both the Premier League and Champions League while Manchester City have won last season’s fina, their third league title in four years under experienced coach Pep Guardiola.

“I think Man United’s not a problem, but where they’re behind the other three English teams, is the experience of winning things.

“All the other three English teams have won things, whether it be the Champions League or the Premier League. Man United have yet to do that as this group.

“That’s where they are lacking, and that’s where they’ve got to play catch up and they’ve got to do that this season. The transfer window for them has been impeccable, but that’s got to translate into trophies,” Ferdinand told BT Sport.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has lambasted his side following a 2-1 defeat to Young Boys on yesterday.

Manchester United began their Champions League campaign with a shock loss to Young Boys.

The Red Devil took the lead when Cristiano Ronaldo scored his third goal since he returned to Old Trafford.

Later on, the game turned around after Aaron Wan-Bissaka received a straight red card for his challenge on Christopher Martins.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has lay blames on his team following a 2-1 defeat to Young Boys on Tuesday.

The Switzerland side eventually drew level, thanks to Moumi Ngameleu’s strike.

The match should have been a draw but Lingard tried to find David de Gea but his pass found Theoson Siebatcheu.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has seriously warned his squad that they must learn from their mistakes if they are to avoid an early exit from the championship competition.

“A lack of concentration, you make a mistake and you get done. We did that last year, conceding two sloppy counter-attacks against Basaksehir and lost that game in the last seconds today.

“So we know we’ve given ourselves a more difficult task. We did last year when everyone thought we were through after two games.

“You need 10 or 12 points: win your home games and one away from home. We’ve lost the opportunity to get three points, but we’ve got two home games next and got to focus on those two,” Solskjaer said after the game.
