Solskjaer delivers latest January transfer update for United

Man United fans now know what to expect this January winter transfer window with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer releasing some updates on what should be expected.

The Red Devils manager has made it clear that there might be no more signings during the January transfer window, while several first-team players are expected to leave Old Trafford this month.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already confirmed the signing of £19 million Amad Diallo last week having initiated the deal in the final days of the last summer window.

The club fans have, therefore, been told not to expect any new signing with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hinting that he expects to trim his squad down this month, with Sergio Romero, Marcos Rojo and Timothy Fosu-Mensah all told that they can leave the club this month ahead of their contracts expiring this summer.

“I think the signings we made in the summer strengthened the squad really well, good signings and good characters and good players,” Solskjaer said.

“January is always difficult. If something comes up that is a long-term target anyway that is another scenario. But not many teams would like to lose players in January.

Solskjaer added: “It’s unlikely something will happen on the ‘in’ side. There might be two or thee going out because they deserve to play more football for their own good and their own careers.”

The signing of Diallo – will add to those of Donny van de Beek from Ajax, Alex Telles from Porto, Edinson Cavani as a free agent after leaving Paris Saint-Germain and young winger Facuno Pellistri from Penarol that were made last summer transfer window.

However, Man United had a very slow start of the season but have moved to avoid defeats in the last 10 games to move up the Premier League table. They could be league leaders for the first time this season by avoiding defeat to Burnley in their game in hand over leaders Liverpool on Tuesday night.

Should manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer win the league, he would be paying back the fate invested in him by the club hierarchy while a Champions League qualification, without a title, will be accepted by the club owners as a fair achievement this season.

Legend ignores Man Utd, names six teams that can win champions league

Danny Murphy

Experienced legend, Danny Murphy has listed the six clubs he thinks can win the Champions League this season.

His list include title holders Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool. However, Manchester United was not mentioned.

Danny Murphy predicts English clubs could be a dominant force in Europe this campaign, with Chelsea hoping to defend the title they won after beating Manchester City in last season’s champions league final.

For Liverpool, they reached successive Champions League finals in 2018 and 2019 and would be eager to challenge for another this seasonn.

Danny Murphy insists Manchester City are one of the favorites as with Chelsea, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, PSG and Atletico Madrid.

Asked which teams he expects to challenge for the Champions League title, Murphy told MailSport:

“I personally think the winners will come from one of six – Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and PSG.

“Atletico are an outsider because Diego Simeone has matchwinners in Luis Suarez and Griezmann in addition to the remarkable team spirit he’s fostered.”

Why Man Utd may not win trophy

Rio Ferdinand, has said the Manchester United inexperience could stop themfrom winning the Champions League this season.

Man United manager has brought in Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane this summer, as he seeks to win his first title at Old Trafford.

However, the team have not won any silverware since the Europa League final in 2017.

Their rivals, Liverpool and Chelsea have won both the Premier League and Champions League while Manchester City have won last season’s fina, their third league title in four years under experienced coach Pep Guardiola.

“I think Man United’s not a problem, but where they’re behind the other three English teams, is the experience of winning things.

“All the other three English teams have won things, whether it be the Champions League or the Premier League. Man United have yet to do that as this group.

“That’s where they are lacking, and that’s where they’ve got to play catch up and they’ve got to do that this season. The transfer window for them has been impeccable, but that’s got to translate into trophies,” Ferdinand told BT Sport.

What Solskjaer said about Man Utd 2-1 defeat to Young Boys

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has lambasted his side following a 2-1 defeat to Young Boys on yesterday.

Manchester United began their Champions League campaign with a shock loss to Young Boys.

The Red Devil took the lead when Cristiano Ronaldo scored his third goal since he returned to Old Trafford.

Later on, the game turned around after Aaron Wan-Bissaka received a straight red card for his challenge on Christopher Martins.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has lay blames on his team following a 2-1 defeat to Young Boys on Tuesday.

The Switzerland side eventually drew level, thanks to Moumi Ngameleu’s strike.

The match should have been a draw but Lingard tried to find David de Gea but his pass found Theoson Siebatcheu.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has seriously warned his squad that they must learn from their mistakes if they are to avoid an early exit from the championship competition.

“A lack of concentration, you make a mistake and you get done. We did that last year, conceding two sloppy counter-attacks against Basaksehir and lost that game in the last seconds today.

“So we know we’ve given ourselves a more difficult task. We did last year when everyone thought we were through after two games.

“You need 10 or 12 points: win your home games and one away from home. We’ve lost the opportunity to get three points, but we’ve got two home games next and got to focus on those two,” Solskjaer said after the game.
