Man United have already sanctioned one transfer deal

Published

on

English Premier League outfit Man United might have agreed to a transfer deal with the reports that Argentina international goalkeeper Sergio Romero has agreed to join Spanish LA Liga outfit Valencia.

Sergio Romero has been unhappy at Man United since the return of Dean Henderson from his loan spell.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decided to make the England international shot-stopper the back-up for David De Gea, leaving the Argentina international as the third-choice, a decision he has been unhappy with.

Efforts to leave the club in the last summer transfer window failed as Sergio Romero was denied move from the club despite receiving offers from clubs in the English Premier League and abroad.

However, reports in Span claims Sergio Romero will be leaving the club with a deal already agreed between the player and Valencia.

The report adds that he has agreed on the deal about three weeks ago and he is only training at Old Trafford to get back to shape for the new challenge.

The La Liga outfit have lost Jasper Cillessen to an injury and will have a need for a new goalkeeper.

They have identified Man United keeper as the right fit for the club with a deal close to being sealed.

On that note, Cope report: ‘Valencia had closed the signing of the Argentine goalkeeper three weeks ago’

Being a second-choice goalkeeper has never been the wish of Sergio Romero and he previously voiced this out but the situation at Man United makes it worst because he was made the third choice.

His words “It’s not easy. But I work every day for this chance to play, and then I am ready when it comes. In the last four years, I was in a difficult situation. I work every day for the chance, and if I have my chance, I try to do my best. I work hard, and I am at the best club in the world. I said I wanted to play for United one day when I was younger, and now I worked to get my chance.

“When I got the chance to come to United, I knew I accepted that I would be playing a few games, but when you get the chance to wear this shirt, it’s a dream come true. It was never the intention to be second choice.” He had stated.

Meanwhile, his wife, Eliana Guercio blasted Man United for refusing her husband from leaving the club last summer. She said “Sergio Romero worked hard for his club. Last trophy they won, they lifted it with him. He helped the team [reach] 4 finals/semifinals, and then he was left on the bench only to lose them all. It is time to return the opportunity and let him go. RESPECT FOR ONCE.”

Roy Keane says there’s a”big question mark” over this United signing

Published

on

Roy Keane says there is a ‘huge question mark’ over Manchester United striker Wout Weghorst.

Keane suggests that his January arrival is ‘gamble’ after watching him play against Arsenal on Sunday evening.

United signed the Netherlands international on a loan deal until the end of the season following his heroics against Argentina at the World Cup in Qatar.

He was on loan at Besiktas this term from parent club Burnley – registering eight goals and four assists across 16 Turkish league games but he seems to be unconvinced in his performance for Arsenal.

Keane is unsure about United’s decision to bring in Weghorst, though, as he shared his thoughts prior to Sunday’s clash against Arsenal.

‘It’s a bit of a gamble but it’s a loan deal, I can see why the manager (Erik ten Hag) has done it,’ Keane told Sky Sports.

‘He’s going to be a good team player but whether he’ll get the goals is a huge question mark.’

Ferdinand reveals the United player secretly pushing for a move away from Old Trafford

Published

on

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has pointed to Harry Maguire as the player who is secretly pushing for a move away from Old Trafford.

The club legend said he would be ‘gobsmacked’ if Harry Maguire wasn’t looking for a new club.

Maguire has lost his place in Erik ten Hag’s team as Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane have formed a formidable partnership at the heart of United’s defence this season.

It is expected that he would be unhappy, especially after an impressive display at the World Cup.

Ferdinand believes the former Leicester City star will be quietly looking to find a new club immediately.

He told iNews: ‘If I came back from a tournament and done well, hit a bit of form and confidence again, come back to my club where I’m captain, and the manager has said to me ‘Patrice Evra is playing centre-half – our only other first-choice centre-half isn’t fit but now we’re playing Patrice there,’ and I’m sitting here fit, I’d have to be asking questions and saying “this ain’t happening, you obviously don’t fancy me, I need to look for a new club, thank you”.

‘That isn’t me saying Harry is this or that. That’s just looking at the situation cold and saying that’s the way it has to play out.

‘If Harry Maguire and his agent aren’t looking for a new club I’d be absolutely gobsmacked. I don’t see Harry Maguire at this stage of his career saying “I’m happy to be a squad player”.

‘I can’t see Harry Maguire who starts for England and is Man United captain saying he’s happy to be sitting on the bench. I wouldn’t be able to understand that.’

United told why they should have signed former flop instead of Wout Weghorst

Published

on

Former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson has told Manchester United that should have re-signed a transfer flop Memphis Depay instead of agreeing a deal for Burnley striker Wout Weghorst.

The Red Devils have agreed to sign Weghorst, 30, on loan for the rest of the season while Depay is also on the verge of an exit from Barcelona.

Robinson doubts if Weghorst is good enough to play for the Red Devils and says the deal ‘stinks’ of a ‘stop-gap’ signing.

‘It stinks of a club that is in limbo,’ Robinson said of Manchester United’s move for Weghorst in an interview with Football Insider.

‘Look, Weghorst fits the bill. He will do a job. He is a number nine, a target man and a handful. But where are United shopping?

‘They need to sign a top striker. Weghorst seems to be a stop-gap. This is a player who Burnley have allowed to leave. He is a very good player but is he a Man United player, no. He is a striker and they need a striker but he’s not world-class.’

Robinson added: ‘Manchester United should be going for Memphis Depay. Depay is a miles better player than Weghorst.

‘There should not be a choice. Depay would be a brilliant signing for Man United. I’m sure the fans would rather have Depay back because it is a different Depay to the one that left.’

Like Ronaldo, another United player urged to leave United for being disrespected by Ten Hag

Published

Rio Ferdinand has urged Harry Maguire to leave Manchester United after claiming that the defender has been disrespected by Erik ten Hag.

His is as Luke Shaw was played instead of him in central defence last month, in addition to dropping the former Leicester City defender on tbe bench before the World Cup.

Recall that a number of pundits had also asked Cristiano Ronaldo to leave the club while still at Old Trafford over being disrespected by same manager.

However, Ferdinand insists Maguire will be unhappy with how he has been treated by ten Hag at Old Trafford.

‘If you’re him you have to leave now,’ Ferdinand said of Maguire on Vibe With Five.

‘Luke Shaw’s playing centre-back instead of him.

‘That’s like me going back after the World Cup, playing well, everyone saying he’s done really well, and Patrice Evra is playing centre-back.

‘I’d want to strangle Patrice! I would’ve smashed Patrice in training to make sure he’s not available, and I’d be going to the manager and saying, ‘are you taking the piss out of me, boss?’. I’d have walked straight into the manager’s office and said, ‘you’re disrespecting me’.

‘Harry Maguire’s got to move. I think he stays because of the games and they can’t get someone else in. He plays in the cup games.’

Ferdinand gives United other options, saying striker is better than Weghorst

Published

on

Rio Ferdinand has asked Manchester United to consider other options for the attack as he claimed that Porto striker Mehdi Taremi would be a better option than their target, Wout Weghorst

It is understood that Erik ten Hag is on the verge of signing Weghorst after making it clear, his desire to bring in another striker this January transfer window.

But Ferdinand feels United should make a move for Taremi, who has scored 14 goals in 20 appearances for Porto this season and impressed for Iran at the World Cup as he scored twice in the 6-2 defeat to England.

‘If you go outside the Premier League it’s a risk, I don’t care what level, unless you’re talking to [Kylian] Mbappe. Outside that everything’s a risk.

‘It’s massive money, 100 million, 120 million, [Victor] Osimhen, you’re getting charged. You’re paying big dough for these guys.

‘You’re going to have to pay big money for Harry Kane but at least you know you’re getting a man who’s getting you 20, 25 goals a season. We can ask, ‘does he suit the play?’, the man scores 20, 25 goals. Harry Kane can’t be going anywhere but Man United.’

The decision however will be left for manager Erik ten Hag to make at the end of the day.

Neville tells United hirarchy what to do to catch up with Arsenal

Published

on

Gary Neville has urged Manchester United’s hierarchy to bring in a new striker for Erik ten Hag in the January window so that they can catch up with Arsenal.

This is as he claimed that the Red Devils are developing into a serious team.

United are currently one point off second-placed Manchester City after winning their third straight Premier League match after the resumption of the season.

‘They just look like they’ve got something going. They’ve got a bit of experience in midfield, Christian Eriksen, Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes – it looks wiser,’ Neville told Sky Sports.

‘Marcus Rashford is in form. They need a forward, but they’ve got forwards who are in form. Defensively it doesn’t look that strong but they’re doing okay.

‘At the moment, the manager has got something. I think that spirit of coming through the situation with Cristiano Ronaldo, coming through the situation with Harry Maguire, coming through the difficult start to the season, they’ve all bonded.

‘They’ve probably bonded more than if they’d just had an ordinary start to the season. Ten Hag is in a strong position there now to be able to call the shots. They need to get him a striker though!’

He continued: ‘They’re getting stronger. I think they’ve got a lot more players than Arsenal.

‘Mikel Arteta is doing an incredible job, but you feel he’s so finely tuned if they lost a centre-back they’d be in trouble.

United told the player to sign instead of Joao Felix

Published

on

Former Manchester United defender Paul Parker has told Erik ten Hag to sign Fulham star Aleksandar Mitrovic ahead of Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix.

Following his exit before the World Cup, replacing Cristiano Ronaldo has been the major concern for manager Erik ten Hag and their bid to land long-time target Cody Gakpo, failed after Liverpool hijackee the move for the PSV and Netherlands forward.

Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic has also been rumoured and Parker said his Serbia teammate Mitrovic would be ‘a very good signing’ for the Red Devils.

‘When you have him on your team you can put the ball into the box at any time and he will most likely score a goal,’ the former right-back told BonusCodeBets.

‘He has improved discipline wise and he really knows how to get into defenders’ heads. I can really see him being an important player for Man United.

‘But it’s going to be expensive. Fulham loves him and they will not let him go for peanuts because he is so important for them. If he is not on the pitch they have 70% less chance of scoring.

‘For instance, if Fulham plays against Man United and he is on the pitch for Fulham, I don’t believe that Man United will win that game.’

The message Ten Hag sends to United board ahead of January transfer window

Published

on

Manager Erik ten Hag has sent a message to Man United over by his expectations ahead of the January winter transfer window.

While acknowledging the club’s targets need to meet their ‘financial criteria’, the United boss is still concerned about the squad depth.

‘All the games are coming. It’s a tough competition, in all the leagues,’ ten Hag told a press conference ahead of United’s trip to Wolves on Saturday.

‘We want to keep playing in all the leagues and in the cups as well. So we need players and we need numbers to cover.

‘We need good players, not just the numbers. We need quality players to cover. And also we need competition and we need to know also that we can make different choices.

‘So we are looking for the right player for our squad, but it has to match our sporting criteria, definitely, but also some financial criteria.’

Meanwhile, Ten Hag has been told by Greame Souness that he cannot trust Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial to score goals for him while also noting that he should have handled Ronaldo’s case better.

‘I expressed reservations about Erik ten Hag in August. Since then, he has got more out of those players than the previous manager,’ Souness told the Daily Mail.

‘Marcus Rashford is their top scorer with five and is playing well. But he had a sabbatical for two years. Only he could tell you why.

‘The worry for Manchester United is that it could happen again. If he’s the one you’re relying on to get you goals, that feels like a wing and a prayer to me.

‘And if Ten Hag is also still relying on Anthony Martial to stand up and be counted, then good luck with that.

‘Three years ago, I said he was in a last-chance saloon to prove he is a United player. He is talented, but an enormous question mark remains.’
