Man United fans told to expect THIS ONE more signing

Published

on

Man United have been busy so far in this transfer window and have spent quiet a lot but they are not done yet, the fans have been told.

It is claimed that the Red Devils will get the deal for Kieran Trippier ‘done’, as he is also interested in parting ways with Atletico Madrid this summer transfer window.

And, regarding the latter, Eurosport’s Dean Jones has told The Football Terrace podcast that he believes United will ‘get the deal done’.

He also claims that Trippier thinks he’ll be able to negotiate personal terms and other details with the Red Devils as long as Atletico find a replacement.

“I honestly think this deal will be done,” he said.

“Trippier is confident that Atletico Madrid are working on finding a replacement for him and as soon as they are far enough down the road that that’s been clinched he should be able to negotiate with United.

“So it’s just about patience really, it was never a priority for United to get this deal done.”

Speaking recently, meanwhile, QPR striker Charlie Austin urged United to sign Trippier amid doubts over whether Wan-Bissaka is good enough for the club.

“Aaron Wan-Bissaka is not up to the [required] quality,” he said.

“We played them the other day, and I know it was only a pre-season friendly, but they need to go all out for Kieran Trippier.

“That’s who they’re crying out for. He [Aaron Wan-Bissaka] can’t defend!

“His final ball is not what a centre-forward wants, it’s not what [Edinson] Cavani wants, it’s not what [Marcus] Rashford wants. They need to go and sign Kieran Trippier.”

When Ray Parlour grilled Austin over whether Wan-Bissaka’s performance was just a bad day, Austin then added: “You can always have a bad game, it was just a pre-season friendly.

“With all due respect, if Aaron Wan-Bissaka is your right-back, are Man United going to go on and win Premier Leagues and win silverware? I’m not too sure.

“They need to strengthen there, definitely.”

United backed to sign as Pundit hints on Frankie de Jong alternative

Published

Kevin Campbell has suggested Man United should make a concrete move to sign Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic this month.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker said Sergej Milinkovic-Savic would be a perfect alternative to Frankie de Jong.

Frankie de Jong has been linked with a move to Old Trafford but the midfielder has been reluctant.

According to Kevin Campbell, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic will strike “the balance” in Erik ten Hag’s current midfield if he joins from Lazio.

When asked by Football Insider if the centre-midfielder would be a welcome addition at Old Trafford this summer, Campbell said: “Listen, Milinkovic-Savic is a top player.

“United need real quality in that midfield. They need somebody who can dictate a game. For me, the balance of their current midfield isn’t right.

“That is why Ten Hag has been after De Jong all summer. He knows that De Jong understands what he needs.

“De Jong is a really good player. Who knows what is happening at Barcelona though.

“If De Jong is on the market a lot of clubs would be interested in him though, let me tell you. It is not a given that he is going to go to Manchester United, far from it.

“Fred and [Scott] McTominay are not bad players but they are not the standard required to get Manchester United where they want.”

Arsenal join Man United in race to sign interesting EPL midfielder

Published

on

Arsenal have joined other Premier League sides in the race to sign Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo this summer transfer window.

Mikel Arteta and Edu have both assured that the club will still do some businesses before this summer transfer window ends and a midfielder is one of the positions being considered.

Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans was the main target for the Gunners but interest seems that have cooled off for his services with Moises Caicedo now being mentioned.

However, Arsenal will battle Manchester United among suitors looking to snap the Ecuadorian starlet up before the summer transfer deadline.

Brighton only signed Caicedo from Independiente del Valle in a £4.5million deal in February 2021 and he is already being linked away after impressing last season.

According to the Sunday Mirror, Arsenal and United join West Ham United, Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen and Juventus in monitoring his situation and could be picked up by the highest bidder.

Caicedo has earned his plaudits as a defensive midfielder, boasting of pace, power and technical ability. This makes it difficult for Brighton to let go of him because they have got no viable replacement and they are not under any pressure to sell.

United urged to copy Arsenal and be slow in making this sack decision

Published

on

Man United have been urged to act like Arsenal and be slow in making a sack decision for manager Erik ten Hag.

The former Ajax boss has had a difficult start of his spell at Old Trafford with the latest 4-0 humiliation against Brentford.

However, Man United correspondent for Goal, James Robson on his Twitter handle said Erik ten Hag should be given time.

“Obvious echos of Arsenal’s start last season & look at them now. Arteta’s plan for young players & dumping big names was backed at huge expense. Two summer windows and they are transformed. #mufc bought into Ten Hag’s vision, but haven’t given him the players he needs.

“This isn’t to say Arsenal are the perfect model or that they’ll even get into the Champions League this season. They won’t trouble City or Liverpool – but they are about as good as United can hope for unless they spend the sort of transformative money to get in contention.

“City finished third in Guardiola’s first season because the players couldn’t play his way. They spent £260m+ on a squad that already had KdB, Aguero, De Bruyne, Gundogan, Kompany, Sterling, Sane, Stones…

“That is how successive United managers thought they would be able to operate. It doesn’t excuse of wasted money wasted – but when you spend every window trying to find that one transformative signing, it leads to panic buys and an imbalanced squad.

“Ten Hag is trying to spread his v limited budget thin to bulk out his squad, with the majority put aside for De Jong. But the early signs are that it’s not touching the sides.
Existing players can’t play his way. New players are getting swamped in the ensuing mess.

“How many times can anyone remember seeing Eriksen caught in possession like he has been in a United shirt? He gets the ball and there are so few options to move it on that things like yesterday happen.

“I don’t see Rabiot changing that dynamic on his own. But really wouldn’t be surprised if he was the only other midfielder United sign this summer.”

Gary Neville reveals ONE major problem United have with this summer transfer window

Published

on

Former Manchester United captain, Gary Neville, has claimed a major problem the Red Devils have is that players are not eager to join the club anymore.

Neville made this claim after United were thrashed 4-0 by Brentford on Saturday to make it their second defeat in as many games this season.

According to Neville, United cannot sort out their woes by signing new players, who are not even enticed by money.

This is as he suggested that attempts to make new signings will not pull any positive result because they might not be able to get the best of the players.

He told Sky Sports: “That’s the problem now. United in the past have always answered the fans’ anger through money and spending in the transfer market.

“The problem is that no, no one wants to take their money. That’s a massive issue. They can’t spend the money.

‘If you’re a player watching that performance in the first half what are you thinking about coming to this club?”

Following the two defeats in two games, there are fears that the Red Devils will have to battle their lives out in the next game against Liverpool next weekend. This leaves new manager Erik ten Hag in a difficult situation.

How United missed out on big Chelsea player before Stamford Bridge exit

Published

Manchester United missed out on signing Timo Werner from Chelsea before the striker rejoined RB Leipzig, according to reports.

The situation at Old Trafford calls for a new striker as Anthony Martial is injured, Marcus Rashford badly out of form and Cristiano Ronaldo still keen to leave the club.

However, the Red Devils were keen on signing Werner before he opted to return to Leipzig after his struggles at Stamford Bridge.

The German international striker has returned to the Bundesliga side on a four-year deal in a transfer worth a reported £25m after failing to live up to expectations at the Stamford Bridge.

While he scored 95 goals and 40 assists in 159 games before moving to Chelsea in 2020 for £47.5m, Werner scored just 23 goals in 89 matches across all competitions for Chelsea.

‘I am incredibly grateful for the time I spent at this special club,’ Werner said about his time at Chelsea.

‘I felt so much love and support throughout the last two years and I will never forget how you guys stood behind me in good and in challenging times!’

Quizzed about rejoining Leipzig, Werner added: ‘I had a great time here between 2016 and 2020, when we performed brilliantly as newcomers in the league.

‘It was a dignified departure for me to leave the club as record goal scorer, but that’s in the past now and I’m looking ahead, because both I and the club have developed in the past two years.

‘I had two great years at Chelsea that I’m really grateful for. The experience to play abroad in a new league really helped me and my career.

‘Now I’m looking forward to the new season with RB Leipzig and above all to meeting the Leipzig fans again, who mean a great deal to me.’

Ronaldo’s United exit nears as legend tells him possible destination is a good team

Real Madrid legend, Guti, has told Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo that a move to Atletico Madrid this summer won’t be an idea.

The La Liga side have indicated interest in signing Ronaldo and they meet his demand of Champions League football. Guti said Atletico Madrid is a good side for the veteran to join.

He told DAZN: “If in this case, he decides to come to Atletico Madrid, why not? It’s a great team, he is a great striker. Atletico Madrid needs a good striker and why not? I think it would be a good pairing.”

Guti added, “It would be strange, because Madrid loves him so much because he’s a very loved player. I think that the Real Madrid fans wouldn’t mind. I think that everything Cristiano had to give to Real Madrid, he already gave. If he feels happy being able to play in a great team like Atletico and in the Spanish league, which I think he wants, why not?”

Meanwhile Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes is understood to have already offered the five-time Ballon d’Or winner to Atletico Madrid which makes a deal possible.

But Guti believes this would be a great move for both parties as they will complement each other.

United introduced to top class player who scores goals for fun as best suit for the club

Published

Rangers legend, Ally McCoist, has told Manchester United that £68 million rated former Chelsea star, Tammy Abraham who scores goals for fun is the player they need in this summer transfer window.

The Red Devils are keen on more additions as they have become more frustrated with their failure to win the first game of the season.

United have been linked with other players but the progress has been slow, especially with Barcelona’s Frankie de Jong.

McCoist therefore said it ‘makes sense’ for Abraham, who left Stamford Bridge in 2021, to return to England with either to join Manchester United or Chelsea this summer.

The 24-year-old joined Serie A outfit Roma last summer for £34million, linking up with legendary Premier League boss Jose Mourinho.

Rangers legend McCoist, however, believes a move to Old Trafford would be a good option for both parties.

“It makes sense for Manchester United,” McCoist told talkSPORT

“The question and dilemma he will have to answer is whether he would want to move back to Chelsea or go to Manchester United.

“I think he is a top class player, and he scores goals for fun.”

United, Arsenal target finally issue response to interest in him, gives reasons

Published

on

PSV Eindhoven forward, Cody Gakpo, has finally given his response to Arsenal and Man United as both Premier League sides are in his chase.

Gakpo has informed both clubs that he will likely remain with PSV if they make it into the Champions League proper.

On Tuesday night, PSV beat Monaco to reach the Champions League play-off round, which is the last knockout stage before September’s group stages.

Manchester United and Arsenal been mentioned as the two clubs that are keen on signing Gakpo from the Dutch club.

But United can only offer Europa League football this season so victory for PSV over Rangers could be a damaging blow to Erik Ten Hag’s bid to find a new striker.

“We must first focus on and try to make it to the Champions League. Then it is more likely that I will stay,” Gakpo said after PSV’s win over Monaco.

“I don’t think I have said anywhere that I am leaving, so there is definitely a chance that I will stay.

“I’m open for a cup of coffee with the management – or coffee for them and water for me. We’ll see how it goes. ”

Meanwhile Arteta has already given the hint that he will do more business in this summer transfer window.
