Liverpool journalist suggests this Real Madrid defender to Jurgen Klopp

Published

on

Liverpool journalist Duncan Castles has told manager Jurgen Klopp to make efforts in securing the signature of Real Madrid’s 22-year-old Brazilian Eder Militao.

Manager Jurgen Klopp has already made it clear that he might not be involved in the winter transfer window as expected but it is not news that the team is struggling in defence this season, due to the injury of Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomes. The Reds are left with Fabinho to bank on.

However, amongst those linked with a move to Anfield, Duncan Castles urged the Reds to consider the signature of the Brazilian central defender who joined the Spanish giants in the summer of 2019 for £45 million.

Eder Militao has now gone down the pecking order in Zinedine Zidane’s team and could be available for a loan move this month.

“One player who has been mentioned is Eder Militao, the centre-back at Real Madrid who is out of favour there. Madrid are trying to offload the player, they want ideally to sell. I’m told their asking price is €50 million (£44.5m), but there is the option there of getting Militao on a six-month loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the season.” The journalist said

The Athletic’s Head Liverpool correspondent James Pearce also made the same comment when he stated that Militao would be a good fit at Liverpool but he would only be a short-term fix and not a permanent signing.

“I agree that Militao would be a great option on loan if the Reds were happy to do so – he is evidently talented and there would be no issue playing alongside fellow countryman Fabinho, the only real test will be whether he could climatise to the Premier League quick enough to make an impact before the summer – but there is no telling unless the club were to make the signing.” He said

Howbeit, youngsters such as Rhys Williams will now get the chance to stand in for Virgil Van Dijk until the end of the season but that will be a major threat to the bid by manager Jurgen klopp to defend the Premier League title.

BBC pundit Don Hutchinson has has told Liverpool to go ahead of Arsenal in the chase of Ousmane Dembele who is set to leave Barcelona this January transfer window.

The North London outfit want another forward as Nicolas Pepe has not been consistent with his performances. A replacement is now needed with Ousmane Dembele now available.

The Frenchman has been a long-term target for the North London outfit but he has been relunctant to part ways with the Spanish giants

Now the Barcelona winger is out of contract this summer, and has supposedly told his club that he is unwilling to accept their offer of an extension.

He will be an option for Arsenal but the pundit urged Liverpool to make haste and secure his signature, stressing that he is needed more at Anfield.

“If I was Liverpool I would (go for Dembele). If I was Arsenal I’m thinking I could get more out of Pepe, they’re two similar players. The trouble with Dembele is that he’s not been fit enough at Barca, he’s a wonderful talent, he certainly was at Dortmund,” Hutchinson said on BBC 5 Live Football Daily podcast.

“If Arsenal threw their money at Dembele I think it would be a risk, but if Liverpool did it he’d be a squad player who’d have to fight for his position.”

Steve McManaman tells Liverpool the truth about chase of Bukayo Saka and Jarrod Bowen

Published

on

Steve McManaman has claimed that he would ‘love’ Liverpool to sign Bukayo Saka and Jarrod Bowen.

He is however not sure the Arsenal and West Ham stars heading to Anfield.

On Liverpool’s interest in Saka, former England midfielder McManaman told HorseRacing.net: ‘I can’t envision that move happening. He’s one of Arsenal’s star men.

‘I’ve seen a lot of Arsenal this season and Bukayo excites me more than any other player in their side. Would I love Liverpool to get him? Definitely.

‘He brings you something different. He attacks down the right, takes people on and gets to the byline. A bit different to Mo Salah, who likes to cut inside, Saka is more of a winger but a winger that likes to chip in with goals and Liverpool do need a winger like him.

‘However, there’s no way on earth that Arsenal will let him go unless it’s a case of his contract running out.

‘He’s such a young lad but still a leading figure in that Arsenal side and he’s improving every single year, so there would be riots if Arsenal let him join Liverpool.’

Discussing a possible move for Hammers star Bowen, McManaman added: ‘He’s been great. They bought him from Hull City for £20 million, which seemed a lot at the time, but he’s been great and continued to improve.

‘West Ham would be mad to get rid of him because they’re starting to build something themselves and he’s probably now worth double or maybe triple what they paid for him.

‘Declan Rice may be considered the superstar at West Ham but I’d be very surprised if they let Jarrod Bowen go.

‘They may let Declan Rice leave first considering everything he’s done for the club and he will probably go for £100 million.

‘Jarrod’s playing great, he’s scoring plenty of goals and he’s adored there. As we’ve seen on numerous occasions, the grass isn’t always greener.

‘However, sooner rather than later, Liverpool will have to start looking to the future. Sadio Mane’s 29, Mohamed Salah’s 29, Roberto Firmino’s 30, so there will need to be a period of rejuvenation, replenishing and a turning over of this current squad.’

Brighton boss sends message to United, Liverpool over Bissouma, giving Arsenal hope

Published

on

Brighton manager Graham Potter has sent a message to the likes of Man United and Liverpool that he’s ‘confident’ Yves Bissouma will stay this January despite intense speculation linking him away.

The midfielder is on the wish list of Arsenal and Man United as managers of both clubs have complained about being short at the middle.

Recent reports claimed Brighton had slapped a £50million price tag on Bissouma, but it’s now obvious they want him to remain.

‘Players at this level know that at this time of year there is speculation and things in newspapers,’ Potter told reporters.

‘It’s part of what they have to deal with and they know they have to focus on their football and let all the other stuff take care of itself.

‘There are lots of ifs and buts. I’m confident. I think Yves is enjoying his football here but with the transfer window you never know.’

Though Potter remains hopeful of keeping hold of Bissouma, he said Brighton had to plan for every eventuality and could not rule out the Mali international moving on this month.

‘It doesn’t matter what I say. We have to adapt – which we do, which we have done,’ he added.

‘You have to plan for things you can’t necessarily foresee. We’re in a good place but we’ll see.’

Thus could be a boost to Arsenal especially after former England striker Darren Bent urged Arsenal to test Brighton’s resolve for Bissouma.

‘I would like to see Arsenal go and get Yves Bissouma from Brighton,’ he said on talkSPORT.

‘I really like him, I think he’s a top, top player. I think he’s gettable as well.

‘Him and Partey in the middle of the park, that is what you call protection in front of the back four by the way.

‘You let the likes of [Emile] Smith Rowe, [Martin] Odegaard bomb forward.

‘If you can Yves Bissouma, I think he can turn into a top player in this league, I really do. I really like him.

‘He’s one of those players that can be box-to-box but if you ask him to sit there, he’s comfortable in possession. Yeah he’s a top player.’

Carragher tells Liverpool how to deliver transfer blow to Chelsea, United by signing England youngster

Published

The former Reds defender Jamie Carragher has told Liverpool to go ahead of Chelsea and Man United to sign England’s Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham.

Both Blues and the Red Devils are linked with the signature of the young talent and have been tipped to make a move for him as early as in this January transfer window but Carragher has asked the Reds to go ahead of them.

Bellingham has made 15 league appearances this season, scoring twice and assisting five times. He has also made six Champions League appearances to add to his top flight experience, despite his side dropping into the Europa League

The Sky Sports pundit tells Thomas Tuchel that bringing in the youngster could help him in refreshing his midfield for the future, with Jorginho and N’Golo Kante now entering their 30s.

Meanwhile, Tuchel s not keen to engage is this January transfer window and that could land a major boost to Liverpool and Man United as the frontrunners for the youngster.

The Red Devils could boast of an advantage as well, knowing that they have an existing relationship with the Bundesliga outfit, having recently secured the signature of Jadon Sancho from the club but it would be a difficult task to convince Borussia Dortmund into releasing their prized asset.

How Man United decision will impact Liverpool as agent weighs in on star’s transfer chances

Published

on

Manchester United has reportedly concluded to loan Axel Tuanzebe to Napoli but his agent has hinted that it will impact the future of one Liverpool star.

The 24-year-old will go to the Italian Serie A outfit for the next six-month loan after he was recalled by United from Aston Villa.

Tuanzebe is expected to fill Napoli’s need for a new centre-back which means they will no longer be making a move for Liverpool defender Nat Phillips at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

Phillips’ agent, Colin Murdock, has also managed Tuanzebe in the past. He told Area Napoli, via Sport Witness: “Napoli have taken Axel Tuanzebe, our former client, on loan, so I think they have finished their operations as regards to the role of central defender. Therefore, I don’t think we need further comments on Nat Phillips.”

Phillips has made just three appearances this term under manager Jurgen Klopp as he has fallen down the pecking order following Ibrahima Konate’s arrival in the summer and the return of centre-halves Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip to full fitness.

On the Englishman, Klopp said in December: “We cannot keep him forever, that’s clear. We needed him, just to be safe, for that half-year.

“We will see what happens in the window. He was fine doing it because he’s a great guy. People love him because of his heading but with his feet he is unbelievable. He’s a late starter, but his development is unbelievable. I would sign him for any club except Liverpool, because we have him.”

Fabrizio Romano tells Man United, Liverpool and Chelsea the latest on Jude Bellingham’s future

A host of Premier League sides including Man United Chelsea and Liverpool are keen on the signature of Borussia Dortmund youngster Jude Bellingham and now they have been told what the future looks like for the player.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the midfielder is happy at Dortmund and has no particular plans for leaving in the summer.

Romano suggests that whilst the Reds. United and Chelsea are keeping tabs on him, he will not be moving in the next summer market.

“I think for Bellingham it will be super difficult for anyone to sign him in summer 2022,” Romano told Anfield Watch.

“If Erling Haaland leaves Dortmund in 2022 I don’t see Dortmund letting Bellingham leave as well. I’m told that he’s not desperate to leave. He’s a very smart guy, super professional.

“He’s happy with Dortmund, he’s always playing and he knows that moving to England could be also a lot of pressure for him as he is one of the biggest talents in English football and one of the biggest talents in the world.

“And so this is why the moment the boy’s absolutely happy with Borussia Dortmund and I think it’s going to be difficult to see him leaving the club.

“Liverpool are keeping tabs on him but so are the Spanish clubs, Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea.”

Man United told Borussia Dortmund star will be useful to them than Liverpool and Man City

Published

on

Steve McManaman has told Manchester United that they have a bigger ‘need’ of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, than the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.

The 18-year-old has been impressive for the Bundesliga giants and has linked with a return to England a little over a year after he left.

Liverpool, Man United and Man City are among the clubs rumoured to be interested in Bellingham, although McManaman believes he is needed at Old Trafford if he is in their plans at the moment.

“He [Bellingham] has got all the attributes to be a superstar,” he told

“When you look through the teams and the sides that could buy him – Manchester United would need that type of player as a central midfielder. Manchester City, with Rodri, Ilkay Gündogan, Bernardo Silva, not so much.

“Liverpool have got Jordan Henderson, Thiago, Fabinho. Of course it would be a great signing, he’s a great player, but whether Liverpool need him now is another thing.

“Henderson is moving towards the end of his career. James Milner also. So Liverpool could always take another centre midfielder but it’s very congested in there.

“I think United need a centre midfielder of that [Bellingham’s] ilk,” McManaman added.

Danny Mills tells Arsenal what would happen if they sign this former Liverpool midfielder

Published

on

Arsenal have been told by Danny Mills that they will be having a game-changing signing if they can secure the services of Georginio Wijnaldum from Paris Saint Germain.

Georginio Wijnaldum left Liverpool as one of the most successful players under Jurgen Klopp after his contract at Anfield expired in the summer.

The midfielder seems to be unhappy now at PSG and could be opened to a move.

Mills said, “If you could get him, it would be a fantastic signing. Why wouldn’t you take him? He’s proven that he’s a really good player with experience of winning things. He could make a real difference to that midfield. If you could get him it would be a fantastic signing and a real leader. Even if it’s on loan until the end of the season, I think it would be a good signing.”

Georginio Wijnaldum has confessed struggling at PSG and that hints he could jump at a lucrative offer from any suitors.

He told Dutch news outlet NOS: “I can’t say I’m completely happy, because the situation is not what I wanted.

“But that’s football and I’ll have to learn to deal with that. I’m a fighter. I have to stay positive and work hard to turn it around.

“I have played a lot in recent years, was always fit and also did very well. This is something different and that takes getting used to.

“I was really looking forward to the new step and then this happens. It is very difficult.”
