How Madrid plans to outsmart Liverpool for Kylian Mbappe capture

Published

Spanish La Liga outfit plans to outsmart English Premier League title holders Liverpool in the battle for Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe.

Both clubs are frontrunners in the chase of the World Cup winner after he made it clear that he was leaving France for a new challenge. Most clubs have been on alert since the news broke out but Real Madrid and Liverpool seem to be in the lead.

Kylian Mbappe’s contract with Paris Saint Germain runs until the end of the 2021-22 seasons and he seems to have made up his mind not to sign a new deal with the club. Adil Rami has also given the hint that the World Cup winner would be leaving the club after claiming that his days are numbered in France.

“I think it’s done, especially since it’s not moving forward in the [contract] discussions. When quizzed on the possibility of the Frenchman signing for Madrid. You have the impression that it annoys him to talk about it, he does not talk about it with the club, his entourage.

“And from the moment where it annoys him, it means he does not want to hear it. It is awkward for him. His future is all mapped out and it’s sad for the Parisians, even for Ligue 1. I love this player.”

Liverpool are making efforts to land Kylian Mbappe as a part of the club’s future plans, knowing that their attack line, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are all approaching their 30s and will have limited years left to be at the club.

However, Real Madrid want to use Belgium international Eden Hazard as bait to seal the deal for Kylian Mbappe. The former Chelsea star has not been the player the Spanish giants invested in since he joined from Stamford Bridge and there are already considerations to let him leave.

The Spanish giants will make an attempt to offer Eden Hazard to Paris Saint Germain, but it is yet to be seen if the Ligue 1 giants will be interested in the service of the former Chelsea player but the move could favour the 29-year-old as the French league is a less competitive league where he could strive and regain his form.

Real Madrid’s plot could hand them the deal for Kylian Mbappe as he favours a move to Real Madrid than the English Premier League because of the history of stars produced by the La Liga in the past.

Liverpool given reasons why they should beat Barcelona, Arsenal, Chelsea, for signature of EPL star

Former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore has urged Reds boss Jurgen Klopp to enter the race for Brazilian winger Raphinha, who has been strongly linked with Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona.

Raphinha is understood to be on his way out of Leeds but has been urged in his destination as he is one of the hottest in the current transfer window.

‘My message to Liverpool is, “Go on, get in there and get him, and future proof for the prospect of Mohamed Salah leaving in a year,’ Collymore told the Daily Mirror.

‘If Jurgen Klopp can show the boy how to play with more tactical discipline, the Reds will have one hell of a potential threat down the left or right with a promise of goals if he stays high up the pitch rather than drifting.

‘I look at Chelsea and think they are all right for that kind of player, they have good players left and right.

‘People will say that if you can hone his talent and skills, he can give you the same ‘Wow!’ factor , or at least a similar one, to Eden Hazard, even though they’re different players. But I just don’t see him as an automatic pick there.

‘With Arsenal, he would go there and carry on in the same vein as he plays at Leeds, where I don’t think he is as tactically aware as I’d like him to be, a lot of what he does is off the cuff.

‘But if you’re looking at Klopp and what he has done with Salah and Sadio Mane then he could do the same with Raphinha.

‘If Liverpool, on the back of good business with Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho, were to get Raphinha and tell him to watch Salah for the next year, not only will he learn but it would also put Mo under a nice bit of pressure to make him think, ‘Am I going to stay or am I going to go?’

‘Nobody is comparing Raphinha to Salah because you can’t compare anyone to Salah. But he has rapid pace, amazing skills and ability, and he can be polished to score more goals and get more assists.

‘If Klopp can do that then, all of a sudden, by this time next year, Liverpool could have an all-new front three and it will be as if people have blinked and not even noticed, which would be amazing.’

Pundit hints Liverpool will help United with this big deal, gives hos reasons

Football pundit Noel Whelan has hinted that Liverpool will help Man United to land the signature of former Arsenal player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer transfer window.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is on the wish list of the Red Devils for a deal this summer and the pundit says Jurgen Klopp will want to do “whatever he can” to help the England international find a move this summer, an act that will favour United.

The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the 28-year-old’s “good relationship” with the German will see player and club split amicably in the transfer market.

It is understood that the midfielder will cost around half of the £22million asking price clubs were quoted last year to make a deal possible.

Whelan claimed Klopp will be “fair” when negotiating a potential exit this summer.

“He’s had his injury problems during his time at Liverpool,” he told Football Insider‘s Russell Edge.

“You’re going to get fairness out of Jurgen Klopp. They’ve got a really good relationship.

“I think he’ll want the player to have the best possible end to his career at a club he thinks Oxlade-Chamberlain can thrive at.

“Klopp will want to do whatever he can to make him happy if he’s not going to stay at Liverpool.

“That will show just what a good manager he is and what a good relationship they have.”

United to lose big target to Liverpool as Pundit makes big claim

Man United could lose out on Christian Eriksen after former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique urged the Reds to move ahead and seal his signature.

Eriksen, who has revived his career has been linked with a move to rivals Manchester United.

However, Enrique believes that United’s fierce rivals Liverpool should throw their hat into the ring as well.

‘Another interesting player that could be our solution to our midfield and spending nothing because he [Eriksen] is a free agent,’ the Spaniard said on his Instagram story.

‘He is a short-term solution but then we can wait for [Jude] Bellingham next season. He will play if he deserves to play like everyone else.

‘Eriksen is a top player and I believe he can compete for a starting spot in our XI. The season is very long.

‘He is that kind of player, like Thiago, but maybe a little bit more offensive. But Thiago is our magician.’

Meanwhile, Eriksen has said that he is happy to take his time deciding his next club, saying: ‘I have different offers and options, which we are considering, and then we make a decision.

‘I’ll have my cell phone turned on. I know my agent well enough that he will call me if anything interesting comes along, and if not, he won’t call me.’

Arsenal in shock link with Liverpool striker

Alan Brazil has linked Roberto Firmino to Arsenal, in what could turn out to be a shock move.

The journalist was referring to the arrival of Darwin Nunez at Liverpool, which could limit playing time for Firmino.

However, former Arsenal midfielder, Ray Parlour, responded by saying that Arsenal ‘certainly need a striker’ this summer.

The Gunners want to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette as they have been on the trail of Gabriel Jesus from Man City.

Speaking about the new Liverpool striker “He’s explosive, he can go past players and he’s strong,” said Parlour. “He’s 6ft2, so he can be a target man as well if needed. Let’s see how he settles in.”

“What about Firmino, then,” asked Brazil. “Away from home, he has scored so many goals. He struggles at Anfield, for some reason, to score regularly.

“Is his Liverpool career now (Nunez has been signed). Would he stay in this country? What about Arsenal.”

“Well, it will be interesting to see where he goes,” replied Parlour. “They (Arsenal) certainly need a striker.”

However, Mikel Arteta has the final say oh whether the Gunners will make a move for the Brazilian or not and it is yet to be clear on the player’s choice for a destination.

United set to land former Arsenal player s Pundit backs move

Noel Whelan has backed Man United to seal a “bargain” deal for former Arsenal midfielder midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as he is set to leave Liverpool.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Premier League striker believes the 28-year-old could bring some much needed “backbone” to the Red Devils midfield.

The Red Devils are understood to be keen on a surprise bid for the centre-midfielder this summer while the Reds are also said to be willing to accept a knockdown fee of £10million for the ex-Arsenal star.

Whelan suggested £10million is a price worth paying for both clubs.

“It would be a very smart move for very smart money,” he told Football Insider‘s Russell Edge.

“If that is what you are going to be paying out for a player of his quality it’s nothing, let’s be honest. I go back to the relationship that he has with [Jurgen] Klopp.

“When you look at it, Man United have been lacking a player of that quality and character in the middle of the park. He would bring personality and backbone to the side. We haven’t seen much backbone from Man United players and that is something they need more of.

“Oxlade-Chamberlain leaves everything out there in the 90 minutes.

It is understood that Man United are making moves to win over Liverpool in their race to sign Darwin Nunez but former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny said they are likely to fail.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Kenny said the Red Devils have no chance because of their lack of Champions League football next season.

Liverpool have entered talks with Benfica over a deal for Nunez worth over £60million – plus add-ons that could take it towards the £80m mark despite attempt by Man United.

When asked if Man United have any chance of winning the race for Nunez, Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild, “Not for me.

“The way Man United are at the minute, you have Liverpool challenging for the title and the Champions League.

“I can’t see any way he chooses Man United over Liverpool if I’m honest.

“I’m sure he will pick Liverpool if it comes down to it. This will keep happening to Man United as long as they are out of the Champions League.

“Top players want to play at the top level and Manchester United currently aren’t there.

“They can’t pick the same players they used to, they have to get used to that.”

Theo Walcott tells Edu what Arsenal’s summer priority should be, never what we expected

Published

Theo Walcott has told Arsenal chief Edu that the priority of the club should be to keep Bukayo Saka at the club.

This was not expected as the focus for the Gunners was to reinforce and get new players.

However, the youngster is linked with a move to Liverpool and Man City, with fears that he could be lured with Champions League football.

Former Gunners winger therefore told the technical director to get Saka’s contract situation sorted out as soon as possible for the 20-year-old will still be at the Emirates Stadium next term.

“Well, there is obviously a transitional stage at Arsenal, that Mikel (Arteta) is part of, and Saka is massively part of it as well,” Walcott told talkSPORT.

“The younger crop of players at Arsenal coming through, I feel as though the club need to keep hold of him, simple as that. Obviously, when Manchester City coming knocking on the door, it is such a hard thing for any player really to turn down.

“He is very young, but I feel that he likes the area of London in Arsenal, the fans have been fantastic, and at the Emirates, which is one of the best stadiums I have ever played in. He has great support, and I will be intrigued.

“My heart says he will be at Arsenal next season, and we will see after that. He needs to understand that the playing opportunities will be limited at Manchester City.

“He will, of course, be more likely to win things, but it is not saying Arsenal won’t win things. I think they are in that phase, they are slowly starting to get there.

“They would have taken fifth at the start of the season, given how it went. I am hopeful he will be at Arsenal next season, I am pretty sure of that.”

Darren Bent names the Man United player that Chelsea, Liverpool players will love to have

Published

Former player Darren Bent has stated that of all the departing players from Old Trafford, France international Paul Pogba is the player the Chelsea and Liverpool will love to sign.

According to Bent Pogba’s fellow professionals will have ‘real admiration’ for him, claiming that players from Chelsea and Liverpool would happily welcome him into their dressing rooms.

‘When you look at his stats for Manchester United, they’re not that bad,’ Bent told talkSPORT. ‘That’s not horrible stats, they’re okay.

‘For someone with that much quality, the most frustrating thing is when you see him put on that France shirt, you just want that level of performance for United.

‘He’s playing in a good team for France, a better team. I know he hasn’t been good enough [for United] but he is a good player. He hasn’t been a success but he has won two trophies there.

‘It hasn’t worked and they’ve paid a lot of money for a footballer who’s now leaving for nothing.

‘I don’t know if Chelsea fans will want him to join but I wonder if some of the players would. Footballers will think differently to fans.

‘There will be a real admiration for Paul Pogba amongst other players in the Premier League, from the players who have played against him.

‘I think other players, players in the Chelsea squad, will think “I would love a player like that to come here”. Fans will see it differently and say “he doesn’t work hard enough, it didn’t work at United, why would we want him?”

‘But players think differently. It will be the same with Liverpool. Fans might think he wouldn’t suit the system, but I bet there’s Liverpool players who would want him.’
