Gary Neville casts doubt on Man United’s chances of signing this midfielder

Man United have been on the radar of Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish for the past transfer windows and are yet to secure his service as he has continued to pitch tent with his beloved club.

The Red Devils legend Gary Neville takes a deep look into the chances by his former team to secure the signature of the midfielder and he is not too sure about it.

Gary Neville described Jack Grealish as a ‘brilliant’ player who has all it takes to play at the top level.

Man United had made inquiry about his availability before moving on the sign Donny van de Beek from Ajax in the last summer transfer window.

Now it is being speculated that the Red Devils are hoping to land him again and Gary Neville who is a big fan of the Aston Villa captain said it is very unlikely for his former club to win his signature, knowing his importance to the team.

Jack Grealish was able to produce another influential performance for Aston Villa on Friday in their 2-1 defeat at Manchester United.

Speaking during the Premier League clash, Neville told Sky Sports: ‘I think it’s very unlikely that Manchester United will move for Jack Grealish, as good as he is. When you think of Van de Beek, Pogba and Fernandes, the type of players Man United have…

‘There’s no doubt there was accusations a while ago about whether Grealish was style over substance, but he’s now delivering on a far more consistent basis. ‘He’s a brilliant player for Aston Villa.”

Also lending his voice, former Manchester United striker Andy Cole says Grealish is more than good enough to represent the Red Devils.

“I think what he’s showing at the moment and in the past few seasons is that he could play for any of the top four teams. I’m not being disrespectful to Aston Villa but he’s their talisman and everything goes through him. They won’t want to lose him. We all know he’s a quality player.’

When asked if he had played his final game at Villa Park, Grealish said: “I’m not too sure at the moment. I have one aim and that is to keep this club in the Premier League, where this whole fanbase know we belong.

His list include title holders Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool. However, Manchester United was not mentioned.

For Liverpool, they reached successive Champions League finals in 2018 and 2019 and would be eager to challenge for another this seasonn.

Danny Murphy insists Manchester City are one of the favorites as with Chelsea, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, PSG and Atletico Madrid.

Asked which teams he expects to challenge for the Champions League title, Murphy told MailSport:

“I personally think the winners will come from one of six – Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and PSG.

“Atletico are an outsider because Diego Simeone has matchwinners in Luis Suarez and Griezmann in addition to the remarkable team spirit he’s fostered.”

Why Man Utd may not win trophy

Rio Ferdinand, has said the Manchester United inexperience could stop themfrom winning the Champions League this season.

Man United manager has brought in Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane this summer, as he seeks to win his first title at Old Trafford.

However, the team have not won any silverware since the Europa League final in 2017.

Their rivals, Liverpool and Chelsea have won both the Premier League and Champions League while Manchester City have won last season’s fina, their third league title in four years under experienced coach Pep Guardiola.

“I think Man United’s not a problem, but where they’re behind the other three English teams, is the experience of winning things.

“All the other three English teams have won things, whether it be the Champions League or the Premier League. Man United have yet to do that as this group.

“That’s where they are lacking, and that’s where they’ve got to play catch up and they’ve got to do that this season. The transfer window for them has been impeccable, but that’s got to translate into trophies,” Ferdinand told BT Sport.

What Solskjaer said about Man Utd 2-1 defeat to Young Boys

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has lambasted his side following a 2-1 defeat to Young Boys on yesterday.

Manchester United began their Champions League campaign with a shock loss to Young Boys.

The Red Devil took the lead when Cristiano Ronaldo scored his third goal since he returned to Old Trafford.

Later on, the game turned around after Aaron Wan-Bissaka received a straight red card for his challenge on Christopher Martins.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has lay blames on his team following a 2-1 defeat to Young Boys on Tuesday.

The Switzerland side eventually drew level, thanks to Moumi Ngameleu’s strike.

The match should have been a draw but Lingard tried to find David de Gea but his pass found Theoson Siebatcheu.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has seriously warned his squad that they must learn from their mistakes if they are to avoid an early exit from the championship competition.

“A lack of concentration, you make a mistake and you get done. We did that last year, conceding two sloppy counter-attacks against Basaksehir and lost that game in the last seconds today.

“So we know we’ve given ourselves a more difficult task. We did last year when everyone thought we were through after two games.

“You need 10 or 12 points: win your home games and one away from home. We’ve lost the opportunity to get three points, but we’ve got two home games next and got to focus on those two,” Solskjaer said after the game.
