Edu looks ready to ignore Roy Keane’s transfer warning with these speculations

Published

on

There is every indication that Edu will ignore the warning handed to him and Mikel Arteta over this January transfer window.

Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane is of the opinion that the Gunners do not need too many additions.

Keane told Sky Sports: “Be careful for what you wish for as well.

“We’ve all been discussing what players you need but sometimes you have to just look at the group you’ve got, one or two players coming back from injury but there’s no need to panic buy or pay over the odds like we see other clubs do. If you have a good group – obviously Arsenal have always produced good young players – just be careful if you’re looking outside, go happy with the group, look what they have achieved so far.

“Be careful that you [may] bring a player in that just upsets everything.”

Meanwhile, Edu seems to be going ahead with his plans to add more players after Leandro Trossard and Jakub Kiwior.

Real Valladolid right-back Ivan Fresneda seems to be next to join according to The Athletic while the North London outfit are also linked with Real Madrid star Eduardo Camavinga and Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie in this January transfer window.

“It’s a massive club, brilliant coach, brilliant staff, brilliant club, the facilities are obviously unbelievable so for me I’m very excited to be part of the team.

“I’m really looking forward to working with the manager (Antonio Conte).

Arsenal have just completed their second signing of Jakub Kiwior and he is likely to get his debut in Friday’s FA Cup game against Man City.

Kiwior is the second signing of the January transfer window after the arrival of Leandro Trossard from Brighton.

Kiwior’s agent, Pawel Zimonczyk, has revealed how they became convinced about Arsenal and we’re tempted to make the move ahead of other suitors.

In an interview with Kanal Sportowy, he said: “The plan is clear. When I went to London Colney, there was a tactical board where the players in each position were listed. There was an empty space under Gabriel, I don’t know if it was a tactical play to get us a little bit.

“His role will be to compete with Gabriel, but Kiwior has the versatility to play in other positions. What impressed me the most was Arsenal’s ‘Welcome to family’ slogan under the post after welcoming Jakub to this team.

“You can feel the family atmosphere there, the mutual respect by everyone at the club.

“Regarding the English language, there were already first lessons yesterday. Kiwior understands practically everything. With coach Arteta, they spoke Italian and English alternately. Man of the match, after all, has to give an interview in English.”

“Now these clubs are exploring the conditions of the Caicedo deal but its complicated to negotiate with Brighton.

“But Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are well informed on Caicedo.”

However, Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, on Thursday evening, said “The information I have is that Chelsea are still pushing to sign Moises Caicedo in this window.

“Brighton have no intention of selling in this window. He’s got two-and-a-half-years left on his deal.

“The best thing to do would be to cash in, in the summer.”

‘This, to me, is the biggest problem and it I am sad for him. Nicolò has great qualities and he has proved it after the double knee injury.

‘But, while you can heal from a muscle, knee or foot injury when the problem is in the head, then it all gets more complicated.’

Meanwhile, Boniek has urged Roma to cut ties unless there is a major change in his attitude.

‘If he has decided not to play for Roma, then it’s better if he’s not involved.

‘The problem remains the same, if he doesn’t change his attitude, then he will cause problems in any club,’ he said.

‘What matters the most is that the situation won’t affect Roma who are doing well in 2023.’
