Conor Gallagher sends message to Thomas Tuchel as loan move nears

Published

on

Conor Gallagher is set to be loaned out by Chelsea again with Newcastle in talks ongoing.

Conor Gallagher insists he is ready to kick on even more and is “nowhere near” the player he wants to be as he prepares to get sent out on loan again.

The midfielder is currently in pre-season training with Thomas Tuchel’s side ahead of the new season after spending last season on loan at West Brom, who were relegated to the Championship.

Gallagher insists: “I’ve loved every loan I’ve been on. It’s been great meeting new people, playing with different players and under different managers. It’s all about getting different experiences.

“With Sam at West Brom, it was more about the dirty side and doing that well, whereas at Swansea it was about runs in behind and creating chances.

“Each manager has helped improve different areas of my game.

“I’ve improved as a player in the past two years, and a lot of that is down to the four managers I’ve played under. I want to push on even more now.”

Gallagher added: “I think of myself as an all-round midfielder.

“I know defensive intelligence is something I can improve on so I’ve been working on that. I’ve been told I need to get better at that so I’m focusing on it.

“I’m only 21 so I feel like I’ve gained a lot of experience already. It’s still just the start. I’m nowhere near where I want to be. I know I can go even further.”

With the calibre of recruitments Thomas Tuchel plans to make, there will be little or no chance for youth players in the team for the new season as he is keen on winning the Premier League by closing the gap on last season’s winners.

Thomas Tuchel joined the West London outfit in the middle of last season and was able to deliver the Champions League title.

Arsene Wenger finally opens up on rilvary with Jose Mourinho, drops surprise revelations

Published

on

Legendary Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has opened up on his rivalry with Jose Mourinho when the Portuguese was in charge at Chelsea.

Wenger said his rilvary has to do with Chelsea than it was the Portuguese while also confessing that his original frustrations came from the Blues’ spending ability, dating back to 2003.

Both managers were part of some iconic moments in the Premier League because of the dig at each other during press conferences.

There were also plenty of touchline bust-ups between the pair in their time, but few came quite as big as the one in 2014.

However, speaking to Sky Sports, while reflecting on the 30th anniversary of the Premier League, Wenger made mention of some of these moments.

Wenger did not fail to mention moments of rilvary while he was in the dugout.

“My rivalry was more with the clubs than the persons, I never made any statements on a personal level.

“I had a lot of aggravations with [José] Mourinho at the time because I felt that Chelsea were the first club that came in and spent money they didn’t earn. At the time you had no Financial Fair Play, since that moment in 2004, nowadays they have created a financial fair play and there is more control over the finances of the clubs.”

Tuchel unwittingly confirms Chelsea bid for Aubameyang as Arteta makes claim

Published

on

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has unwittingly confirmed his wish to sign former Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona this summer transfer window.

Aubameyang only left Arsenal some months back and he could be returning to England if the offer on the table is luring enough.

Thomas Tuchel did not openly confirm Chelsea’s interest in the striker but admitted that he has a close bond with the Barcelona forward from their time at Borussia Dortmund and said, ‘some players stay your players.’

Tuchel worked with Aubameyang during their spell at Dortmund together from 2015-17.

‘I enjoyed a lot working with him, it was a pleasure,’ Tuchel told a press conference of Aubameyang. ‘It has nothing to do with the situation now but some players stay your players because you were very, very close and Auba is one of those players, we had a very close relationship.

‘Always when we played him here with Arsenal it was always straight away this close bond. They always stay your players, in a way, and Auba is one of these guys.’

However, Aubameyang is reportedly not keen on leaving Chelsea but he would listen to offers from the Blues to prove that he is not closing the door for a move.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has sent a message to former striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as reports claim he is wanted at the other side of London by Chelsea.

When asked if he has any regrets over the handling of the Aubameyang situation, Arteta replied: ‘It’s a long time since that happened. I cannot go back each time there is a series.

‘I have made my comments on that, I was clearly clear and honest on my opinion

‘What has been done has to defend the club and put it in the best possible position.’

Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta describe the Gabon international as an ‘exceptional player’ and thanked him for what he did for the club.

How United missed out on big Chelsea player before Stamford Bridge exit

Published

Manchester United missed out on signing Timo Werner from Chelsea before the striker rejoined RB Leipzig, according to reports.

The situation at Old Trafford calls for a new striker as Anthony Martial is injured, Marcus Rashford badly out of form and Cristiano Ronaldo still keen to leave the club.

However, the Red Devils were keen on signing Werner before he opted to return to Leipzig after his struggles at Stamford Bridge.

The German international striker has returned to the Bundesliga side on a four-year deal in a transfer worth a reported £25m after failing to live up to expectations at the Stamford Bridge.

While he scored 95 goals and 40 assists in 159 games before moving to Chelsea in 2020 for £47.5m, Werner scored just 23 goals in 89 matches across all competitions for Chelsea.

‘I am incredibly grateful for the time I spent at this special club,’ Werner said about his time at Chelsea.

‘I felt so much love and support throughout the last two years and I will never forget how you guys stood behind me in good and in challenging times!’

Quizzed about rejoining Leipzig, Werner added: ‘I had a great time here between 2016 and 2020, when we performed brilliantly as newcomers in the league.

‘It was a dignified departure for me to leave the club as record goal scorer, but that’s in the past now and I’m looking ahead, because both I and the club have developed in the past two years.

‘I had two great years at Chelsea that I’m really grateful for. The experience to play abroad in a new league really helped me and my career.

‘Now I’m looking forward to the new season with RB Leipzig and above all to meeting the Leipzig fans again, who mean a great deal to me.’

Aubameyang’s return to EPL not ruled out after latest report of his response to Chelsea’s interest

The return of former Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to England this summer transfer window, after his exit from Arsenal to Barcelona cannot be ruled out.

Aubameyang fell out with Mikel Arteta and was frozen out of the team, leading to his exit.

It is now reported that he is on the wish list of the Blues as manager Thomas Tuchel is a big fan of the Gabon international.

Now Aubameyang bis reported to be willing to listen to the offers from Chelsea despite his wish to remain with Barcelona.

Speaking at the height of his Arsenal exile last December, Tuchel was effusive in his praise of the Gabon international and admitted he felt sorry for his former charge.

He said: ‘I can only say the best things about Auba as a player and as a person.

‘I feel sorry for him that he’s in trouble. This is not where he should be with his kind of quality and the positive character that he has – and I still believe in that.

‘But I’m not involved, and I’m not involved in what’s going on at his club now, and for this I also want to show my respect [to Arsenal] and not be involved and not judge what is right and wrong.

‘I just have my picture and my relationship with Auba and this is not affected by that.’

Pundit issues “embarrassing” transfer claim about United and Frankie de Jong

Published

on

Alan Hutton has claimed that it would be “embarrassing” for Man United if Chelsea eventually signs Frenkie de Jong ahead of them.

This is as the ex-Spurs and Aston Villa defender, while speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suspects that Erik ten Hag is becoming “frustrated” with the De Jong situation.

When asked for his assessment of the latest, Hutton told Football Insider: “It will be embarrassing, there’s no doubt about that.

“De Jong was their number one target for this summer. Obviously Ten Hag identified him to come in and be a main player within that system, within that squad. Midfield is where they needed strengthening.

“It’s been going on for weeks now, we’re talking about Manchester United, one of the biggest clubs in the world. If you want him that much just go and get him. I don’t really know what’s going on in the background with finances and stuff like that.

“To lose someone like that to a rival, who you’re going to be challenging with is not ideal. It probably frustrates the manager. He would know the players he wants in from day one as soon as he walked through the door.

“It just seems that it’s been dragging on for weeks and weeks and weeks now. If he’s your number one target go and get him. Get him through the door and start to get to work.

“It just hampers him moving forward because if it gets done in weeks to come, they’ve already started the season and he’s not up to speed yet, it’s not helping him.“

How Arsenal could hand Chelsea a major transfer blow with this one move

Published

on

Arsenal could hand a major transfer blow to their London rivals Chelsea if they revisit long-standing interest in Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans
and sign him before the transfer deadline.

The Belgian midfielder is available at a cut-price fee of £25million because of his contract situation and he is the top target for Mikel Arteta with Leicester City ready to let him go.

Meanwhile the Blues are eager to snatch the £80m-rated Wesley Fofana from Leicester, a move that would be difficult to accomplish if Youri Tielemans leaves for Arsenal.

Although the Foxes have put a huge price on the 21-year-old Frenchman, who it appears is keen to move to Stamford Bridge but his move will be stopped if Youri Tielemans eventually leaves for the North London outfit.

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers has already declared that Leicester will not be “exploited” this summer as they are more likely to let go of Youri Tielemans.

Rodgers said: “We don’t want to be losing our best players. You don’t want to lose your best players and then not be able to bring any in. That doesn’t stack up.” Though he has since added on funding signings: “It would have to be about trimming the squad or selling your assets. That’s something that the club are looking closely at.”

Chelsea set to sign Arsenal’s “rejected stone” as pundit makes perfect claim

Published

Despite being a great player Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was allowed to Goa through the exit door at Arsenal last January transfer window.

This happened when he still had a running and active contract with the North London outfit but it was obvious that Mikel Arteta was no longer in need of him.

It is now understood that Chelsea have marked the Gabon international as the man to help the attack and are set to make a move for him.

Former Tottenham star Darren Bent therefore said that former Arsenal striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would be ‘perfect’ for Chelsea.

Aubameyang, now at Barcelona, has been heavily linked with a shock return to England just half a year after he left the Gunners for Barcelona.

But Bent said he would rather have Gabriel Jesus in Arsenal’s team than Aubameyang.

Told to pick between Aubameyang and Gabriel Jesus, the former England international said:

“Where Arsenal are and what Arteta is building, I’d prefer Gabriel Jesus.”

However, Bent said he would rather have Jesus over Aubameyang as Arsenal’s main striker this season.

Gabriel Jesus has hit the ground running after his move from Man City and that has been hailed as a good deal for Arsenal, especially now that they won their first game of the season.
