Arsenal have been offered Amadou Diawara by Italian Serie A outfit AS Roma as they are keen on selling him to be able to land Granit Xhaka from the North London club.

Roma have been on the case of Granit Xhaka for weeks with Jose Mourinho keen to bring the Switzerland international to Italy, especially after watching his performance at the Euro 2020.

Granit Xhaka has also hinted to the Gunners that he wants to leave too as he expects an agreement now that the European Championship is over.

It is now understood that AS Roma sporting director Tiago Pinto is working hard to clear the decks by selling players, and has offered Arsenal the chance to sign Amadou Diawara.

AS Roma are confident that Arsenal will be willing to let go of Granit Xhaka if they are able to land Amadou Diawara.

The Italian outfit is willing to part ways with Amadou Diawara for €12million (£10million) for Diawara, and it’s unclear whether Arsenal are still keen.

Meanwhile, the player’s agent has confirmed Arsenal interest in “‘Diawara is at a top club like Roma, where he is happy, as there is enthusiasm around the new owners.

“However, he is also liked by many clubs in England, including Arsenal.

“Being linked with certain clubs is pleasing for him, as these are prestigious sides. Amadou is concentrated on football and his career.’

In his own analysis, football journalist, Charles Watts said: “[Amadou] Diawara at Roma is a player they’ve looked at as well. I know there has been lots of talk in Italy about a potential swap deal involving Torreira and Diawara. As far as I’m aware, that has never actually been discussed, but Diawara’s representatives are certainly aware that Arsenal have been keeping tabs on him but he, again, is very much on the list of potential backup options [for Partey].”

EPL goalkeeper told why leaving Arsenal was a great decision

Danish great Peter Schmeichel has told Argentina international Emi Martinez that his decision to leave Arsenal was a good one.

Admitting that he’s a big fan of the Aston Villa goalkeeper, Peter Schmeichel noted that the decision to leave the North London outfit helped the goalkeeper to develop.

Recall that Emi Martinez was a second choice goalkeeper to Bernd Leno when he was at Arsenal. He struggled to get playing time and the situation did not get better when Aaron Ramsdale joined the Gunners and became the first choice.

Martinez could not continue to remain on the bench, hence, took the decision to move ahead.

Schmeichel reckons Argentina star Emi Martinez has developed into a top goalie since quitting Arsenal for Aston Villa in 2020.

He said: “With Martinez, he came for four or five crosses as well, which calms everyone down.

“I think he has done really, really well. I kind of like him to be up there amongst the best.

“I think he has done fantastically well since he came to Aston Villa, I think he has progressed.”

Latest analysis suggests Arsenal can sign another Man City star

Published

Noel Whelan has claimed Man City may find it hard to avoid selling key stars to Arsenal with players preferring to remain in the Premier League.

Earlier reports claimed that Man City have decided against selling their players to the Gunners, henceforth.

The Citizens had sold Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko to the Gunners, helping the Mikel Arteta team to emerge as title contenders as they are now too on the table with five points.

The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the Citizens should “trust” in their ability to secure replacements like Erling Haaland in the transfer market.

Whelan claimed “you can’t avoid” selling to rivals with the English top-flight the most attractive in world football.

He told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “Man City were just being fair to their players.

“Pep Guardiola was willing to let them go because he knew that they could replace them. They let Jesus go and replaced him with Haaland.

“If you asked 100 people, I’m pretty sure 100% would say that Haaland is the better player.

“Arsenal are the finished article now. That’s for sure – and these two players were a big part of that.

“Players want to stay in the Premier League, so you can’t avoid these kinds of deals.

Finance expert reveals latest stunning transfer budget by Arsenal

Published

on

Finance expert Doctor Dan Plumley, has revealed that Arsenal have a budget of £115million in transfer instalments within the current financial year.

Although, he noted that it will not guarantee their January winter transfer activities.

Plumley explains that £115m of the £188m owed by Arsenal is due this financial year, but that won’t necessarily prevent them from adding to the bill in January.

“Looking at what we can see, it appears that £115m of that £188m is due within a year, which is quite a high figure,” the Sheffield Hallam University expert told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.

“But when we look at the other side of the coin with current assets, they have got debtors worth £726m due within a year, which is the amount owed from the group undertakings.

“So, that would suggest that they can go to your current accounts, which is cash, debtors and stock, to cover that transaction.

“If you have not got it all in cash, which Arsenal don’t, they do have people that owe them money in the form of the group that owns the club.

“So, in that regard, if you put £726m against £115m, logic dictates that you are okay against that in the short term.

“That is the position I can see looking at the numbers in the accounts. I don’t think it will have too much bearing on future transfer budgets.”

Gilberto is not not the first former player to wish Jude Bellingham for Mikel Arteta’s team as ex- Chelsea left-back Scott Minto also wished same for Arsenal to sign Bellingham last month.

‘In terms of Jude Bellingham, do I think he’s going to come to the Premier League? Absolutely I do,’ Minto told Ladbrokes.

‘I mean, up until the start of this season, everybody was saying he’s Liverpool’s player, because they were right up there with Manchester City.

‘But I’m still wondering whether or not they’re going to make the top four – and if they’re out of the Champions League, I’m not so sure he’d be as keen to go there.

‘When you look at what that team is all about under Mikel Arteta, and there’d be a need for them to strengthen if they’re playing on Europe’s biggest stage, why couldn’t they go and get a Bellingham?’

Fans told it’s a matter of time, Arsenal will sign player they extensively scouted

Published

on

Journalist Paul Brown has told fans that it’s only a matter of time before Arsenal make their move for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Myhaylo Mudryk.

He made it clear that the winger dubbed as Ukrainian Neymar is definitely the one the Gunners want, after watching him for a number of games.

The North London outfit were reportedly close to signing the winger last summer but failed to agree a fee for the 21-year-old, having tabled a bid of around £45million.

Mudryk’s price tag has since increased and would now cost around £80 million according to The Athletic. However, that hasn’t deterred Arsenal with ‘positive talks’ already held according to Fabrizio Romano.

Romano said he still remains the top target for the Gunners as the two clubs are expected to hold talks for a deal at the start of the January winter transfer window.

However, Brown said there is nothing to worry about as he expressed confidence that the winger will be at Arsenal soon.

Brown told GIVEMESPORT: “They are very keen on this player. They’ve been looking at him for a long time. He’s been scouted extensively, and they’ve watched him again for several games this season. So he’s definitely one that they want. There’s definitely interest there.”
