Chelsea keen on this Under-21 star player

Published

on

West London outfit Chelsea are reportedly keen on a technically gifted 18-year-old attacker who is in great form for Bursaspor this season.

Ali Akman has therefore attracted several interests from top clubs in Europe including Chelsea since he made his senior debut at the age of 16 and has become a regular first-team player for the second-tier side.

It is claimed that Ali Akman will be allowed to leave the club if an offer worth around £3 million is being tabled to the club.

Chelsea boss is known to believe in young players and Ali is likely to be one of those he is considering as one for the future of the Blues if they are able to land him this January window.

Although Blues boss already boasts a wealth of experienced attacking options in their senior team ranks but the addition of Ali Akman might be one for the future.

The West London outfit are not alone in the chase of the 18-year-old as he is receiving plenty of interest across the continent.

Meantime, Wolverhampton Wanderers have allegedly ended their interest in Chelsea star Olivier Giroud.

The West Midlands side will be without star forward Raul Jimenez for several months following his skull fracture, and 18-year-old prodigy Fabio Silva has struggled with lack of cutting edge.

Wolves has been tipped to bring in a new striker and they have recalled Patrick Cutrone from his loan stint at Fiorentina.

Pundit disappoints Chelsea fans with transfer neww

Published

Chelsea fans will be left disappointed after football pundit Dean Jones disclosed that the club will not be bringing in a left back this January winter transfer window.

This remains a setback for Thomas Tuchel as he is keen to add one to his squad for the second half of the season.

Ben Chilwell has been away due to injury and is not expected back this season, leaving Thomas Tuchel with Marcos Alonso as his only available, traditional left wing-back.

At 31, the Spaniard simply cannot play every game to maximum capacity, yet he’s hardly missed a minute since Chilwell retreated to the treatment room.

Efforts by Chelsea hierarchy to have Emerson Palmieri recalled early from his loan spell with Lyon has been very difficult and almost impossible.

However, Jones suggested that the Blues are simply not interested in splashing the cash on a left-back in this transfer window.

“From what I’ve heard, that is not something that Chelsea are looking to invest in right now,” he said.

“They obviously do want a new full-back to come in, but not at £25m.

“I think if that was the case, they probably would have been more serious about Lucas Digne and signing him.”

Chelsea have completed first January transfer deal with the signing of Dylan Williams from Derby County.

He is excited to make the leap from Championship strugglers to champions of Europe and can’t hide it.

The 18-year-old left-back has made just eight first team appearances for the Rams, six of which have come in the Championship.

Although, the teenager is unlikely go straight into Chelsea first team and will probably go into the Under-23 squad in west London.

He wrote on Instagram: ‘Wow. I am absolutely delighted to have signed for one of the biggest clubs in the world.

‘Thankyou so much for everything the staff and players have done @dcfcofficial . I cannot wait to get started @chelseafc.’

Derby manager Wayne Rooney, who gave Williams his senior debut, said that he could not bring himself to stand in the teenager’s way of such an enormous move.

‘We have agreed on a fee with a Premier League club, still getting finalised as we speak, for Dylan Williams,’ Rooney said over the weekend.

‘It is one where I felt I couldn’t deny him the opportunity, so that is my decision, not an administrator’s decision.

‘It was my decision after speaking to the player, I felt I couldn’t deny a young lad an opportunity of going to play in the Premier League.’

Florent Malouda urges Chelsea to sign these quality players to improve Tuchel’s team

Published

on

Florent Malouda has urged Chelsea to add ‘quality’ to the team by making moves for Declan Rice and Ousmane Dembele.

According to the Frenchman, West Ham midfielder Rice and Barcelona outcast Dembele would also be ‘interesting’ additions in west London if the club are serious about challenging for silverware on a consistent basis.

‘I think Chelsea have already started preparing for next season with the new contract of Thiago Silva, looking to keep [Antonio] Rudiger, and thinking about replacements for players that might leave,’ the ex-Chelsea and France winger said.

‘Every top team need to strengthen and look at the market to try and become the best team.

‘I don’t think there’s too many players who will improve Chelsea right now, so they should wait for players like [Erling] Haaland and [Kylian] Mbappe…those players are the type of players who will improve them.

‘I think Declan Rice could be interesting, not just because he was there before, but he’s a young player who has the experience of delivering for his club and national team so he could be a good option for Chelsea. He delivered at Euro 2020 and has continued that form with West Ham.

‘Adding players will depend on contract situations and what’s available. Ousmane Dembele is also interesting as he’s free in the summer, but would he suit the Premier League?

‘I think to strengthen they don’t need lots of players, just players who will add quality.’

Malouda added: ‘The squad has balance, so it’s just about adding players who will bring more of this.

‘It’s too early to assess these players because you want those who are performing at the top level for their teams at that moment.

‘Chelsea’s DNA is to bring in the best players and challenge for trophies, so they should look at doing that.

Frank Leboeuf tells Chelsea the player they must sign to win EPL0

Frank Leboeuf has told Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel that they need to sign Kylian Mbappe to keep up with Manchester City and mount a genuine Premier League title challenge next season.

While Mbappe is being linked with a move away from PSG and rumoured to prefer a move to Real Madrid, Leboeuf feels the Blues can give it a tr.

Mbappe, 23, is one of the best players in the world with 130 goals in 154 games for Ligue 1 giants PSG. But a number of clubs are keeping an eye on his situation, with his current contract set to expire next summer.

Asked to name the signing Chelsea need to make to catch Man City and win the Premier League, Leboeuf told ESPN FC: ‘Kylian Mbappe.

‘The guy is free next summer and when I see the players up front [at Chelsea], obviously Kylian Mbappe would make a huge difference for Chelsea, yeah.’

Former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley agreed with Leboeuf’s suggestion and identified two other players who would transform the Blues, although he admitted they won’t be heading to Stamford Bridge.

‘I’ll tell you what, there are two players who really spring to mind – well Mbappe’s another one,’ Burley said.

‘Kevin de Bruyne and Mo Salah. No [they’re not going to get them] but they had them.

‘They had them and then they just went [bye]. Mo Salah and Kevin de Bruyne were deemed not to be, I’m not saying not good enough, not ready for Chelsea. Do you think that motivated them? I bet it did.’

Ferdinand warns United against signing former Chelsea player who is now impressing in the EPL

Published

on

Man United legend Rio Ferdinand has warned his former teammate against making a move for Brighton star Tariq Lamptey, who recently left Chelsea.

Since arriving Brighton from the Stamford Bridge, Tariq Lamptey has been impressive and last week, reports claimed that Ralf Rangnick had identified him as a target to improve United’s right wing, while Arsenal have also been linked with a move.

However, Ferdinand believes the winger, who is capable of playing in both defensive and offensive roles on the right flank, needs more playing time at Brighton before he moves to another club.

‘I think it’ll be difficult [for United] to bring players in this window, I don’t think this window is an easy one,’ Ferdinand told FIVE.

‘I think Premier League players who know the league have a premium as well, so their price is even bigger.

‘I think it’ll be difficult, the names mentioned, I can’t see them coming this window, I’d be very surprised if that does happen.

‘Lamptey has shown real glimpses in his time at Brighton but he hasn’t played consistent football in terms of team selection, he hasn’t been in the team for long periods of time, he’s had big injuries.

‘I’d like to see him play more football, if I’m honest. I think he needs that as a young player to continue playing.’

Tuchel might have ruined the day for Chelsea fans with latest transfer claim

Published

on

As Chelsea fans hope to have an improved team this January transfer window with additions, so as to challenge for the EPL title, their wish might be disappointed with manager Thomas Tuchel down playing talks of new players.

Having been frustrated with the window so far, Tuchel has suggested he’s now happy with his squad and their problems are simply down to availability.

‘Of course we will try to improve but if you mean do we need other players, I think we just need our whole squad,’ said Tuchel.

‘Were Liverpool able to compete last year for the title? No. The only real difference was that they were lacking Virgil Van Dijk.

‘I’ve said it many times, key players are key players because they are key in everything they do and every way in which they behave.

‘Our team is a strong team and I love the ambition, I love the attitude and hunger with which we are playing. We are still brave and we are still up for a good fight, and you can trust anyone you put on the pitch. It’s a pleasure to be at the sideline.

‘But it’s different if, as a player, you have to fight every single day for your place, and this is not the case in our team for too long. If you have a negative test and you are fit you have huge chances of being in the line-up.’

Thomas Tuchel has had to speak on the future of Armando Broja as he is wanted on a permanent deal at Southampton.

Southampton have the youngster on loan and hope to strike a deal this month and expect to learn of Chelsea’s response this week.

The 20-year-old striker has scored seven goals so far this season having established himself as Ralph Hasenhuttl’s first choice centre forward ahead of Che Adams and Adam Armstrong.

‘We will find the right conversation with the player, the agents, the club. What they want, what Chelsea want,’ Hasenhuttl recently said.

Now that there are growing talks over his future, Tuchel has to speak up.

Speaking ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Brighton, Tuchel highlighted the young striker’s ‘unique’ qualities.

‘He is our player, he is doing good. But at the same time, it is only halfway through the season, so he needs to continue to improve and make his statement at Southampton,’ Tuchel told a press conference.

‘We have a reason why they are our players, they have quality and a mentality and now they are out there on their own in different environments at different clubs.

‘Armando is getting better and better.

‘He is a very unique player with very unique strengths: speed, strong, robust and a goal scorer. Now is not the time to talk about summer.
