Buhari’s efforts, reason why bandits, terrorists are on the run – Femi Adesina

Published

on

Presidential spokesperson, Femi Adesina has stated that bandits and terrorists are now on the run because of the efforts by his principal, Muhammadu Buhari to end insecurity.

Adesina made this claim on Thursday in an article titled: “They said nothing was happening…How about these?”.

He said the Boko Haram insurgents and bandits pillaging communities in the Northern part of the country have been put on the back foot by troops through relentless assaults on their hideouts in the region.

He stressed that President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration was on the right path to achieving multi-sectoral progress.

The government, according to him, has re-assessed and updated the national security strategy, which has contributed to success in fighting insurgents and terrorists and also countering violent extremism.

Adesina said: “Has security not been jigged up in a way that bandits, terrorists, insurgents have been put on the back foot? Are evildoers not being daily sent to God to answer for their crimes? Is the country not being cleaned up, and it is just a matter of time before the sanitation is completed?”

Alan Hutton reveals one sad truth about Arsenal and recent transfer dealings

Published

on

Alan Hutton has revealed Arsenal have been “unlucky” with transfers this season.

A number of the Gunners’ top targets have either joined rival clubs it refused to make move.

The recent incident experienced is the failed move for Mykhaylo Mudryk who later joined Chelsea and Moises Caicedo who was unable to leave Brighton despite wanting the move.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender said that it is impressive the Gunners are willing to walk away from deals that go beyond their price point.

When asked if the London club have a big problem with transfers, Hutton told Football Insider: “They are a little bit unlucky.

“Chelsea came in late doors with a higher bid. So it would be annoying, especially having done all the groundwork to try and get these players to your club.

“Ultimately if you have got a limit on spending and a player goes above that, I think it shows a good side of them that they are willing to walk away. I think that shows you where they are at.

“They are in a really good place, they are doing really well under Arteta so I do not see why they should feel upset about it. But I am sure moving forward they will have other plans.“

Ian Wright’s latest advice to Arsenal hints at what could still happen before January window ends

Published

on

Arsenal great Ian Wright has advice the club to make more signings so as to make good use of the opportunity before them to win the EPL title.

The Gunners are top on the log with five points ahead of Man City and they have added Leandro Trossard and Jakub Kiwior to their squad to add some depth.

With the January winter transfer window already rounding up, Wright would advice the Gunners to make more signings.

Asked if Arsenal still need further signings if they are to boast a squad capable of making the most of their record- breaking start to the season, Wright added: I would (make more signings), as long as they’re going to be in that sort of Trossard or Kiwior… that calibre of player.

‘Hopefully they’re coming in with the mindset that they know they’re coming in as a squad player and this XI is doing amazing but I’ve got the capability of knowing once I get in there I can stay. That’s how our team is going to be pushed forward.

‘When you talk about getting Leandro Trossard. A 28-year-old ready to be plugged in. He came in against United, a big club, contributed, it’s exactly what we needed. I’m happy with what we’ve got in as the back-up plan.’

Arsenal warned this target could be another flop like Pepe

Published

on

Gabby Agbonlahor has warned Arsenal that their target Mykhaylo Mudryk could end up as a flop like their former player Nicolas Pepe.

The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed “questions will be asked” if the 21-year-old doesn’t impress.

Recall that Pepe joined Arsenal for a reported £72million in 2019 but he returned to Ligue 1 on loan last summer after scoring just 27 goals for the club.

Mudryk has played just 50 senior games – all of which have been for a Ukrainian side and he is tipped to make it in England.

Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “It’s obviously a lot of money.

“But when you’ve seen players do it at the highest level, in the Champions League, you can go off that.

“He’s still young, and Arsenal will be aware that he will have a lot of coaching and improvement ahead of him.

“Look at the market – that kind of price is just where the market is for these kinds of players.

“He can run at speed, he can create – and Shakhtar are in a good position. I think he’ll prove to be a really top player in England.

“However, Pepe didn’t work out and that was big money too. This signing has to work out or else questions will be asked of the Arsenal transfer team.”

Published

Shakhtar Donetsk director Carlo Nicolini says he can not deny the fact that Arsenal have concrete interest in Mykhaylo Mudryk.

Although, he noted that the Gunners have not submitted any official bids for talks to start.

Deputy sporting director Nicolini addressed the speculation in an interview with TV Play and appeared to rule out a move to Serie A in a boost to the Gunners’ hopes.

“Mudryk has received the message, like all the other players, to show up for the training camp in Antalya on January 9,” Nicolini said.(opens in new tab)

“Arsenal’s interest is there; I can’t deny it. However, today he is called up for the first training camp which runs from January 9 to February 9, then in Warsaw we will prepare for the next European games.

“Many clubs have taken an indirect interest in Mudryk, without an official offer. There have been a lot of phone calls.

“I believe that today the Italian teams find it difficult to take a profile like this, both for what it is worth and for the lack of courage in investing in such a profile.”

The 21-year-old netted three goals and set up another two in the Champions League group stage as Shakhtar finished third in their group, behind Real Madrid and RB Leipzig but ahead of Celtic

Major hope for Arsenal as Piers Morgan makes another revelation about Ronaldo

Published

on

Piers Morgan has handed a major hope to Arsenal to sign Cristiano Ronaldo after revealing that the Portuguese international has not signed any deal with a Saudi Arabia club.

Report had claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo has agreed £432m Al-Nassr contract ahead of the January winter transfer window.

Ronaldo left Man United after a controversial second spell following an interview with Piers Morgan. He had blasted his teammates and the management in the interview that led to his exit from Old Trafford.

However, the search for a new club continues for Ronaldo after Piers Morgan, who is known to be in close contact with the veteran tweeted, “again, not true” about the report.

This hands a major hope to Arsenal as Piers Morgan wants the Portuguese international to join the Gunners.

The Broadcaster also reveals that Ronaldo still feels he can compete in the Champions League and will be ready to take such a chance.

‘He thinks that if he does well at this World Cup, he’ll get what he really wants, which is a club in the Champions League that extends his record and his legacy,’ Morgan told the Daily Telegraph.

Howbeit, the Gunners, with their fine form, are tipped to play in the Champions League and that could be a factor Morgan will bank on to convince Ronaldo.

Journalist reveals what’s happening to Gabriel Jesus at World Cup

Published

on

Football journalist Charles Watts has revealed that Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus is unhappy by criticism over his failure to score at World Cup 2018.

Now he said the Arsenal star is now keen to put right this time around.

This was also noted when the Gunners were to sign the Brazilian in the summer as a major concern but he eventually joined and proved everyone wrong.

“I know how much it means to him to score in the World Cup. He got such criticism last time when he didn’t score and Brazil didn’t win it.

“I know people close to the Brazil squad and Brazilian journalists I’ve spoken to about that all say how much that impacted Gabriel Jesus.

“In the first two games, when he’s come off the bench, it’s been noticeable how desperate he is to score, you can see when he hasn’t been passed the ball when he’s been in a good position, he gets angry and frustrated.”

Meanwhile, Gabriel Jesus has been defended by manager Mikel Arteta who says there is no need to be worried in over the lack of goals by the Brazilian international.

The player also made same claim while expressing confidence that he would still score goals.

Arsenal-linked player told he would be a star under Arteta

Published

on

AFTV’s Robbie Lyle has told Arsenal-linked Christian Pulisic that would be ‘better’ a sma star under Mikel Arteta than he is at his current club.

Pulisic has not been the player he was known for since he joined Chelsea and that has raised concerns over his future at the Emirates Stadium.

The player has however been linked with a move away from Chelsea in the last few days.

This has led to a number of Arsenal fans calling for his signature on social media.

Lyle believes he could see him replicating his promising displays with a switch to north London.

He said: “When you look at the way he plays – a player who picks the ball up and likes to run at players, dribble at players, take players on – it might not be a bad shout to bring a player like him in.

“I think he’s one of those players where he could, under a Mikel Arteta, be a better player than he is at Chelsea.”

Most Gunners fans have called on manager Mikel Arteta to consider cashing out on the player as they hope he gets better and live his potential at the Emirates Stadium.

It is now yet to be known if Chelsea will let go of the player to their London rivals.

Did Arsenal actually help United to handle Ronaldo’s case

Published

on

Man United have asked Cristiano Ronaldo to leave the club in a mutual agreement after his blasted the club, manager and teammates in an interview with Piers Morgan.

United, as earlier states, assessed what action to take after Ronaldo publicly took aim at the club’s ownership, Erik ten Hag and his fellow teammates.

With the decision to terminate his contract, some pundits have argued that it wasn’t a decision the club would have taken.

It is argued that the Red Devils learnt from Arsenal on how Mesut Ozil’s case was handled to make the bold decision.

Recall that like Ronaldo, Mesut Ozil was a star at Arsenal but after he fell out with Arteta, he was made to leave the team.

With this similar case, United have been able to prove, just as Arsenal did on two occasions that no one is bigger than the club.

Meanwhile, Arsenal and Chelsea have both been linked with a potential move for Ronaldo in the new year, but after his recent actions it’s hard to see why a top club would look to sign the ageing superstar, apart from his stellar goal scoring record.

The 37-year-old is now without a club and has become a free agent ahead of the January.
